It's the late 60's at Lawton, you're hoping Wayne Cox breaks down(even though you want to be just like him), Shady goes elsewhere, and just as you're counting the money you MIGHT make in the "A", you have an 'uh-oh moment-

Brian,
This is the Cope/Guffey Parsons car that I refered to earlier Eugene won alot of races in this car, they were a tough team, at 1 race the starter switch give out on A Red Flag, Gene was leading so he hopped out pulled the dipstick(yes we used them in those days) out and jumped across the starter solonoid to start the motor and went on to win!! I wonder how many of our young drivers would be so smart!!!!

Now, isn't that just the perfect set of lines for an Edmunds body? That car would look good with or without the paint.

5th car is Pat Patterson, for a short time they had a sprint tail on the Edmunds. You can tell by the bracing on the cage, that single diagonal.

Exactly right Brian, + Patterson has his # inside the logo of the state of texas on the tail cover.
Great stuff, I promise you I was at that race! Look how full the stands are, and the die-hards who sat in the stands down front, gettin hit with mud.
From 69' to Aug. of 74', don't remember missing any races at OKC. The 3 years was gone in the service, still made several races a year.
From 81' to 94' missed NO races as all that time I worked for the track, even did Shanes shows, motor cycle races, all the fair races, Inspections, practice, even the year we ran 2 nights a week, made em all.
Gotta love this stuff!
