Man you guys are breakin my heart with this stuff!! Yeah that # 33 was from 1970, Grady was driving. You're right we logged a ton of miles in the back of that van. look around, no tire racks, no sleeping quarters. EVERYTHING we had jacks & all was in the back of the van & we rode on top of the stuff & thought it was great!
That was the very first racer I actually got to lay hands on & do some real work. Thank you that picture means a lot to me.
The 22nd works just fine for me. I WILL be there.
It's a little fuzzy, scanned it out of a program, but here's one for David from 1987.

Who are these guys?
|
Brian,
This is Ronald Guffey(short fat guy on the right, the big Indian last name was Cope I don't recall his first name, this must have been 1 of there early cars, 1 of there later cars was the #4 Red White & Blue Parson single rail spring front cars that Eugene Hair drove Dale built that car about the time I went to work for him I can remember helping finish up some body parts and nerf bars for it. Cope&Guffey were nice guys I hung around with them a little when they had the Parson car they had a salvage and a car crusher that they used in the WF area.
I don't know who built this car or who drove it.

Another Shady photo, look at the rollcage design, much like in the 80's, yet without back braces
|
Didn't Shady win an A-FEA in this car at OKC in late 60's or early 70's (69 OR 70)??

Brian,
This shot is my favorite Aaron Madden #1 that thing had a cool paint job, Jim may have worked on this car also I think this car became the #8 Southwest Automotive car. Diagonal behind is the #21 of Larry Holman in the Automatic Garage Door car, I can't put a name on the Red car behind Aaron but Schipperts #4 is behind it with Grady or Ron Fowler.
