The local racetrack where my best friend lives (near metro Louisville), Southern Indiana's Sportsdrome, packs the stands regularly for school bus figure 8 action (which they do twice a year). I think that is a motorsport niche we are missing here in NorCal! Hell, Anderson Speedway about an hour from Indianapolis (which holds both wingless and winged sprint races on paved high banks) has school bus figure 8 too if I'm not mistaken - I wanted to go there in my Midwest trip in '06, except that rainy conditions on the route prevented it from happening.
Seriously, on Stockton 99's last night, the VERY last event ever there was the midnight schoolbus spectacular...that wasn't so spectacular, only four buses and while "contact was mandatory," it's hard to really do much when there isn't figure 8 action going on. Knowing that the new promoters plan to put a fig-8 track there is absolutely promising!
