i heard the 02,54,05,21,99,4g,4 arent coming back but dont worry the 10k and the 14 will be there battling each other still...saturday night it looks like the 05 just needs to go to the city... the 4 car and the 21 car has both won features up there so there no need for them coming to lawton any ways!!!

Where did you hear that they were not coming?

I wonder if that video is on YouTube yet?
|
I wish someone would put it on youtube.....Who is he seeking legal action against? He was the person who instigated the whole ordeal. If Sellers would have never gotten out of his car the whole ordeal could have been avoided, bottom line. Then to top it off as Bloomquist is going back to his pit, who starts it up again? Sellers, he took off running after Bloomquist. So he instigated the second sparring match also....It is over and done with, life goes on.....

You cant blame Sellers on the second fight in the infield. I seen a crew member from another team throw the first punch and it it was at a track official. But when happen in the pits was totally wrong.

Ya'll need to get a clue to the real facts!!!!! That whole outfit of misfits in Lawton has been out to get Sellers for 2 years cause he wins too much. THAT"S A FACT!!!!! Thay can't stand to be beat at their home track. I know Sellers has helped alot of those guys down there with setups and the fact remains that Joe Bob, Middleton, Bunch, Harrell and others have been greatful for that help Robert passed on the them. Fact is it can be seen in their driving styles as time has passed. If Sellers never returns, that is a loss of talent and resource to the drivers at Lawton. If Lanny doesn't get his family uninvolved with the running of the track then the facility is doomed.
JMO but factuallity

Sellers went over there to give bloomquist a piece of his mind, but didn't throw the first punch. And, to be held imobile by a group of guys so someone could blind side him from behind isn't exactly a fair fight now is it? Sellers had every right to be angry after being taken out like he was. You're right, life goes on. And now racing is Lawton will be even more of a let down for fans and the racers who respect Sellers. He has been a good example for the young drivers in Lawton. He has helped them and taught them about how to win with safe, clean driving ability. He's a class act and will be missed.

DO you know for sure that Sellars is not coming back? He strikes me as the kind of person that would not let the Lawton officials run him off. On that note... If he did not come back, I am sure everyone would understand. I have a 6 year old who races karts and idolizes Robert. I hope I don't have to explain why Robert is not racing.

My son Cody talked to Robert on the phone yesterday and he is fine. He did say that he would never go back to Lawton. Anyway the reason he called was to offer us a chassis that he had at his shop. He didn't know that we had sold out. That the kinda guy that Robert is always trying to help

I just hope that Robert Sellers sees the posts on here from the people who respect him and appreciate his driving ability and the way he helped the other drivers here in Lawton. I wouldn't want him to base his whole impression of Lawton on the final scene last Saturday night. Most of the people associated with racing in Lawton are good people who love racing and respect the fact that he was a clean driver who provided a good role model for our kids and fun, quality racing for us to watch. Thank you Robert! I can't say that I will go back to the Lawton track again, but I will certainly go to SFS to watch, so we'll cheer him on there! Good luck to Robert and Shane.

Thanks to the Whitworth's for sharing that info... You will be missed as will Robert and Shane. We will not be able to go to State Fair to watch because we race on Fridays. Good Luck to all...

I think the 05 (CODY LAIR) did a great job Saturday night. Despite all the wrecks and fights, he managed to stay out front. This kid is a rookie and has had some bad luck with his "race ready" car & engine. He finally has it running good and looks like he is learning how to get around the track. I was thrilled to see this 16 yr old win the feature. Hate the circustances but still a win is a win and he deserved recognition for his efforts. Way to go Cody.
By the way, he will continue to race Lawton and plans to run OKC after he gets a little more track time in.

Have known Robert since 2001 (I think it was) when he ran the mIn Motorsports ASCS sprinter. I try talking to him at least once each Friday night (except this year just once total) and he has always told me that if it gets to be a hassle and isn't fun anymore then he will do something different. I don't see him getting out at this point but I do see him not going to Lawton any longer.
I think he will like the changes at Brill.
There are those who will disagree but Robert is mild-manored and tame until he is threatened or provoked. Then it will set him off but nothing wrong with that. Robert has been always clean but agressive and his track record all these years speaks for itself. I think people will have to agree with that aspect.
I wasn't going to post any comments but that is going to be the only post I will have on this subject. I have a gut feeling I will catch hell for this thread and if that is the case,,,,,,,

You'll be catching it from me...this thread is making me physically ill.
Either way David, it's your board. Do you tell Lanny how to run his track? I serioulsy doubt it, so why let them tell you how to run your board?

I guess me and Christina are the only two that have seen his 'not so clean' driving style over the years. That being said, he got screwed bigtime, and Lawton Speedway has taken yet another step in the wrong direction.

Just FYI
Robert was on the phone talking with Lanny and a couple of track officials when I left the shop last night, so I dont have the outcome of that conversation yet.
But Robert right now is awaiting Lanny's word on whether they are going to make this fair or not. If they should make it fair by either not suspending anybody, or suspending everybody, than he MIGHT return to Lawton at some point. The main reason he runs Lawton is because of a couple of sponsors we have down there, and he would hate to not be able to fulfill his commitment with them, but I am sure they understand.
If they refuse to open their eyes (at least one of the officials was already saying that he didnt see anything), than we hope to run some OCRS races on Saturday nights.
On a personal note from me, I want to say thanks for all the kind words for Robert on here. Even the same people that are saying they are not fans of Roberts, are backing him up on this issue.

I'm sure Robert would be quite welcome at Brill Motor Speedway, as I recall he ran there once and did well.
