The issue has been pushed and I have one thing to say (per Tommy Estes):

L E G A L!!!! (at an ASCS event)

(I was told to change the wording)

Legal per ASCS rules or SIA Rules?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Sprint Invaders run ASCS motors?  Here are the injection rules from both...

SIA- FUEL INJECTION: Fuel injection will have a maximum bore of 2 3/16”. If sleeved down, sleeve must be at least three inches long and measure 23/16” throughout. No down nozzles, only 1 nozzle per cylinder is allowed.

ASCS- Injectors: 2 3/16 inch maximum inside diameter of injector stack - 2.187 at least 3 inches in length. Note: Larger injectors may be used, but sleeves a minimum of 3 inches in length must be installed in stacks above the Butterflies. No relief hole may be drilled above the Butterfly on any injector. No Alteration of injector manifold mounting holes will be allowed.

The rules look to be the same to me.

Maybe you should have read all of engine rule #3 (as per ASCS website)

"3. Injectors: 2 3/16 inch maximum inside diameter of injector stack - 2.187 at least 3 inches in length. Note: Larger injectors may be used, but sleeves a minimum of 3 inches in length must be installed in stacks above the Butterflies. No relief hole may be drilled above the Butterfly on any injector. No Alteration of injector manifold mounting holes will be allowed.

Due to manufacturing process some injector stacks may be slightly larger. There will be a tolerance of .005 allowed on no more than 3 stacks. No throttle body or plenum type injectors allowed, No down nozzle injectors.

No timed fuel injectors will be allowed. Electronic fuel injection shall not be allowed. Only one injector nozzle and one injector line per cylinder. Injection unit shall have one shaft operated butterfly per cylinder. The immediate area of the butterfly must be round. No slide or barrel type injectors will be allowed. "

But since we are all splitting hairs here....last time I checked 3 divided by 16 was 2.1875. Yet ASCS says maximum is 2.187. What happens to the other one half of the thousandth of an inch? (.0005"wink

It seems the Sprint Invader rules are different from ASCS, afterall they are an organization that is ran its members unlike the ASCS. Certainly an organization that can vote a coin toss in after the draw could find the ability to standardize their rule book a little bit!

Now let's take this one step further...here are the WOW rules: (as per WOW website)

INJECTORS
The maximum inside diameter of the injector stack is 2 3/16 inches. Larger injectors may be used, but sleeves a minimum of 3 inches in length must be installed in stacks above the butterflies. No relief hole may be drilled above the butterfly on any injector. No alterations of injector manifold mounting holes will be allowed.

Due to manufacturing process, some injector stacks may be slightly larger. There will be a tolerance of .005 allowed on no more than 3 stacks. Throttle body or plenum type injectors are not allowed. Down nozzle injectors are not allowed. All Ford/Chrysler engine injectors, inside stack must measure 2.100 in diameter and at least 3 inches in length. (Stack diameter specs for Fords & Chrysler engines are subject to change.) All injectors must measure 2.100 inches inside diameter and be at least 3 inches in length with the exception of Kinsler and Hilborn. Any deviation must have written approval from the Speedway.
I feel bad for the Higday team losing a feature win on a technicality such as this. But we all know when you venture off to someone else's sandbox, you have to play by their rules. It is unfortunate, but even the NBA makes a bad call now and again, don't they?

Rome wasn't built in a day......but they sure didn't
waste any time burning it down!

From what was explained to me by Tommie Estes was that if this was an ASCS race in question these stacks would in fact be legal.

Not sure what exactly the Sprint Invaders rule is on the stacks, but they must vary from the ASCS rules.

From a little experience on our end, in the couple of hundred ASCS engines that our company has built, dyno'd, and R&D'd over the years you could run a straight 2 7/16" injector and your only going to gain a few horsepower.

Mark, when the NBA does make a bad call is it to benefit Tim Donaghy, the ref who was caught throwing games.

Seems to me to be a lot of room to be legal and you just pushed it to the top end of the tolerance and got busted on it. I do recall one of the techs saying they told you not to run those stacks again. Also your tantrum after getting dq'd was just great. Dropping f bombs and calling the tech out to fight. Classy.
