In regards to the Shuman's getting hosed, well yeah. The deal with Ronnie is one of those situations that comes up from time to time and no matter which way it goes, someone is going to get screwed. Remember how the taxicabs used to race to the yellow flag? Well this situation is the reason why they used to do it, it's much easier to score the race that way. It's safer to just get the cars slowed down and revert a lap to get the race order. Casey's deal was also unpopular but also correct. They were very clear in the pit meetings that the only tire that could be flat and that they would allow you to continue to race with was the left front. Casey got run over and his left rear was flat. His exhaust was also sticking straight out the left side of the car. I'm not quite sure how anyone would have been able to pass him on the left without running into the exhaust. So Ronnie got hosed by the rules and Casey got hosed because of Chili Bowl type racing. I believe Ronnie still could have been in the feature as the alternate when Bubba Altig stuffed it into the wall while the main was lining up. Both Ronnie and Lasoski where in street clothes by the time that happened.

I saw a number of deals where "heros" were given surprisingly little leeway to continue racing. Guys had flat tires and such but given the same amount of time as everyone else to get back out. The draws and points placements seem a little funny from time to time but the race officiating is good. No offense to Stevie O as he's doing a good job but year after year these officials run a tight ship top to bottom especially considering the number of cars and number of judgement calls that happen. Overall, I'd have no problem with these officials running our races.

Am I the only person that heard Ron say in the interview that he needed to be done for the night not going another 50 laps? He said he was having trouble breathing. Maybe he had something to do with that decision himself. Just a thought.

Yes I did, and my first thought was that he wasn't feeling well and passed the ball. I thought maybe that's was why they made no announcement about it. I thought it strange for him to say that on the air. I posted that thought right after the race then deleted it being the coward I em..LOL

Guess the biggest problem I had with the program was Damion's drive being treated in a back-handed manner by the people who ran the show. I thought the drive was spectacular.

I think what he was saying in his interview was that he had considered putting me in the car when he made the show, he has always had a problem with the fumes there at the bowl, and thought about letting me run the car, which I told him I would not do that, he drove his butt off all week and needed to run the A. Our problem with the whole deal was it was said every day in the drivers meeting NO SPLIT YELLOWS, every car had to finish the lap for it to be complete, whether is was lap 2 or lap 20 and they had the same situation come up earlier in the week, and they restarted with a green white checkered. There were many questionable calls this week, and I think what they need to realize is this is the biggest midget race of the year with no points involved, and people put ALOT of time and extra work into racing in that event, they should do everything they can do to let people determine their own fate, race their way in, not have their week ruined by some borderline judgement calls, and I am not just speaking about my deal, or dads, there were some others also. Regaurdless, it was very cool and special to have him as a teammate this year, and I am damn proud that after 10 years of not racing, he jumped back in the biggest bees nest there is, and showed why he was one of the best...

Hmmm, that is a bold statement dick... If it were true, I bet there would have been some sort of promoters option or something like, If this would have happened to one of those guys..

Casey, I am sure you heard it a million times last week but it was really cool to see you and your dad racing together. I know it is no consolation but having you guys there took what was already an incredible race up to another level. The only bad part of the deal is your dad has a lot of us retired racers thinking about making a comeback..... I am thinking about starting an "over" developed driver program, Anyway thanks to you and your family for creating yet another Chili Bowl memory that will last a lifetime.

I was in turn 3 and it was not a popular decision there. I'm not saying they did something evil, but I did understand the impact of The Shoe winning in Tulsa since he was racing for Offixco all those years.

270+ cars and the need to process all those races in time for the HBO window coverage of the c-a mains could cause them to pull the margins in a little when it comes to defining what is a race.

The Shoe had a warm welcome from what I could see, but the relentless organized chaos is part of what makes the Chili Bowl. He definitely was moving forward. I know here we would like to see him come back and try again. I mean he is RON SHUMAN!

Can any of you imagine Ron running with the senior sprints at Ventura?

You mean have him support Jim Naylor? Not very likely.
