Whats the difference between a 358 and a 360? Is PA the only place that races 358s?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Yes only in Pa. When they were first created it was steel blocks and heads and I believe flat top pistons with smaller restricted fixed wings. Now the differences between the two are a lot closer with aluminum heads and full size wings permitted in 358s. I could be wrong but that's what I believe are the differences.

I don't understand why Pa. doesn't switch so more out of state teams could race.
I've asked this question before, but fergit the answer.... Maybe my first sentence already answered itself?

I'm pretty sure that all the tracks that run 358's now allow 360's to compete as well, and that the URC 360 group also allows 358's.

Not trying to start anything here but I believe the only time 360's are permitted to race in a "Pa 358" race is when it's a 360/358 challenge race with URC. I haven't seen a URC guy drop in at the Grove or Lincoln and race with them on a regular night. You're correct about 358s being able to o run URC but there's still subtle differences between the two yet. One thing I'm willing to bet there's more 358s in the central Pa NJ area than 360s. Probably 2 to 1.

Adam Carberry, Andy Best and Preston Lattomus are 360 guys that ran a lot of regular 358 races in PA this year.

Yes and they were all 358 legal. Carberry got a 358 because of a lack of URC races.

Could be but I thought I heard the Lincoln announcer say that 360's were now allowed to run with the 358's. URC is about done for due to lack of cars and dates. Such a shame for the oldest sprint car sanctioning body.

I haven't heard that but it could be true. And I agree it's sad to see what was once a strong 360 organization to what it is now. I know they have a schedule for this coming year including a 358/360 challenge date at Lincoln. ESS in New York seems to be strong but for whatever reason URC has really struggled the last ten years or so.

If that were true there would be more 360 teams in Pa but that's not the case.
