Port keeps on delivering.  Lapping the other central PA tracks.  Great job Port Royal Speedway.

From what I read on here is that Port sucks and it's like asphalt and all that?

Well, now I can't tell if this race will be awesome because it's a High Limit race, or awful because the track will dry and slippery and none of the racers know how to race on that kind of surface. It's hard to understand the TRUTH from the experts around here.

I just hope its affordable for the average fan and their families. Those people are quickly getting priced out of the sport. Especially on a weekly basis. Less and less people are able to attend weekly. When I was a kid, you saw so many of the same faces week after week at Port. It was almost like a family. Everyone knew everyone. If someone wasn't there, people would ask them the follwing Saturday why they weren't there. Going to the track was what we all did every Saturday night. I'm seeing less and less of that these days. This is already a great event for the teams and just got even better. So that end of things is pretty awesome. I just wonder at what point will central pa be over saturated with "big" races?

My guess is Flo and/or Brad and Kyle are putting up a bunch of it since Brad has the best shot at pocketing it. And will this be a HL format or will it be the best format ever, the Weikert format? No need at all to change this weekend the way it was.  $29,000 to win and a great payout throughout.

Without being stupid, which I know is asking alot. Explain why EVERY driver in the country talks about how Port Royal is one of their favorite tracks in the country to race on , but you keep trying to tell everyone it sucks?

Just try......

Hey strawman, 1 of the first times I'm going to agree with you. Big money for the Weikert, I think you'll be able to make it because anybody and everybody should be there.  Or you going to Lincoln and watch young Rahmer win another easy one.

I agree.  We no longer have reserved seats do to the big increase last year. Most of the people who had reserved seats in our area were di hard fans but retired and on a fixed income. They used to attend every show. Then it became only the big shows. Who knows now.

I never gave fixed income people a thought but yeah I can totally see that. I know I've noticed a large decrease in families attending in the past 2 or 3 years. It's hard to justify spending $80-$100 just to get your family of 4 through the gate let alone food and other expenses week in and week out. That Flo subscription is a lot more attractive to many of those people. It's much cheaper, weather is of no concern and your car never needs to leave the parking lot. Plus, as an added bonus, you have a volume button to turn their jack ass of an announcer down.

Not a Port Royal "HOMER". Show us one interveiw that has a driver saying Port Royal is what you are saying they said. I have plenty of time to wait for this.

I take along a good set of noice canceling headphones to the track.  Works almost as good as "mute".

I'm curious how much it used to be and how much it is now. Numbers please.

I agree the food at most tracks and other sporting events in overpriced and often bad. WHY?

Around 2019, a lot of weekly shows were $15. Now virtually all of them are $20 at a minimum. Ports food isn't great but it isn't bad however it's definitely overpriced since Packer's took over from the Renninger family who did a hell of a job for decades and still to this day made the best hot sausage I've ever had at a racetrack. I barely ever eat at Port. If I'm gonna spend that kind of money, I'll spend it at a decent restaurant and bring my own dinner to the track with me which you're allowed to do. But again with the family of 4 scenario. That can be a real pain in the ass. It's a lot easier to just have dinner at home and watch on Flo. As for why....your guess is as good as mine. I'd rather sell 500 hot dogs for $1.50 than 200 for $3. I personally think you'd make more money with reasonable prices starting with tickets. If a family walks through the gate and still has some money in his pocket, they're more likely to spend it on food or souvenirs.

I agree the food ain't what it used to be. I am lucky though I still get the barbeque on a regular basis as well as know what brand the sausage was and can have it also.

I married the cook a long time ago. They got a new manager and when she told them that she needed 100 lbs of burger at a time to make it they thought that was outraegous and quit having it.
