You can try to spin it....but it is still socialism.
|
No spin. And a waste of time trying to help you learn something.

I'd love to buy you a one way ticket to Cuba or Venezuela so you can tell them the real meaning of socialism.

Your first paragraph "exactly the same as the outlaws" is incorrect. Maybe this year may look okay, but let's talk again in 2025. If there are more than 3 High Limit teams that make every show, I'll be shocked. Gonna need a contract with their drivers. Eventually exclusive rights to those drivers. That should give everyone the series they were looking for to dethrone the Outlaws------which will be exactly the same as the Outlaws. Not saying that's what Kyle and Brad want, but if all of the Outlaw haters want a replacement, it's gonna have to look exactly the same in the long run.
|
I agree with your observation. If any series books a race with a track and can't provide the track with a list of drivers guaranteed to show up the track have no guarantees to attract fans. If the WoO has fifteen regulars and High Limit has three and none of the biggest events under their banner what's the selling point besides one former champion and a part timer moonlighting from his day job?
Sanction battles are pretty much a roll my eyes and think "yeah, whatever". Not much about racing is the same as it was when I started attending in 1960. The only common thing is that the cars are still open wheel machines that go fast and turn left on dirt. I don't really give a damn which series name is on the banners. As long as it's good racing and fun I don't sweat the details. Big events will likely look pretty much the same.
The last few days I have been wondering why instead of going through all of this chaos why the WoO drivers didn't ban together and advocate for more midweek races? After all, they listened to the drivers when they requested less midweek racing and the WoO agreed to move towards more multi day weekend shows. I still don't see the sense in initially selling this as simply adding some midweek racing and all of a sudden we have a second series pulling drivers from the Outlaws. If I did a mutiny on every job I had that wasn't perfect I'd never be satisfied. I prefer the Outlaws until I see evidence that this fiasco is going to benefit the fans because the WoO has the name recognition and relationships with promoters. I was fine with the High Limit deal as a Sprint Car version of the Late Model race night in America on Flo. When I heard they would be scheduling weekend dates against the established WoO schedule they lost me. Initially it doesn't look like High Limit will come anywhere near me so the biggest impact may be a few missing drivers when the Outlaws are in town. I think my biggest takeaways are "was all this really necessary and how will it benefit the fans?" I won't lose any sleep over which banner is hanging on the fence at a race.

Comparing giving more money for non qualifiers to socialism tells me everything I need to know about what you think you know but don't.

These top heavy $100,000+ to win races are killing the local and regional teams. Imagine what it would be like to pay $25,000 to win , and spread the rest of the $75,000 back throughout the A & B main fields. You could add $2000 onto every other starter in the A-main ($46,000) and then have $28,000 left to pay from 5th on back in the B-main.
|
Here it is. So whose the dummy now? Last time I checked 28 is higher than 25.

Purse doesn't mean first place only. The million paid 1,000,2023 to win the A main purse was 1.,331,223 the total event purse was like 1,500,000.
28,000 spread over 20 guys is not 28k for the winner.

The Mopar Million was in 2003. To START paid $10,000. TWENTY years LATER in 2023, to get $10,000, you had to finish SIXTH or better. I fail to see where Reverse Robin Hood races are good for the sport.

Don't take this the wrong way because, I know what you said, you know what you said and anyone at a second grade reading level knows what you said. But arguing with this guy is a total waste of time. Do you notice that most on here don't even respond to him? He will keep spewing the same bullshit over and over again, he hears (or reads) what he wants. It really is best to ignore him. And if you try to argue with him, it kind of shows your intelligence (no offense). I wish everyone would ignore him so he would go away but a select few still respond to him. Also if you didn't know, his alias is wingedspeed. So it would be best to treat him the same.

Taking your advice starting now. Arguing with someone who thinks their never wrong is a fools game and I'm totally guilty of that.

You may have reposted his words but you don't UNDERSTAND them! He didn't say $28,000 to the winner of the B. He said $28,000 should be split up between lower finishers.... duh
