Now that Husets is a 4 day show basically a mini Knoxville Nationals . Will they get more cars than before when it was 3 day . What does everybody think the car count will be how many cars were there Sunday before they call the show

Well Knoxville is off that weekend so I'd expect a decent showing but will be limited to upper 30s to low 40s because outside of the WoO only 5-6 others have a real chance at making any respectable money and the locals who show every week will show. Outside that who travels that far to get their ass kicked?
On a side note, pissed about Knoxville not making nascar weekend that weekend or Husets not making this show nascar weekend. Two weeks off is a joke. Some said it before that Knoxville will become the next Eldora once they let NASCAR in the door and will just be a special only track.
Outlaws weekend
Cornbelf Nationals ( if it comes back )
Nascar Trucks
360 Nationals
410 Nationals
Late Model Nationals
Whats next? More monster jam and concerts? I just want local weekly sprints plus Iowa speed week with the one and only true Nationals. That's it. I seem to lose another regular week each year and simply won't pay 40 bucks plus per person to see something I'm less interested in.

I suspect, like most things, the bottom line will determine the course of action. If specials put more money in the bank they'll likely keep going that way.
I'm planning a trip to Husets for their big show. The added makeup race makes it even better. I was planning a stop at Knoxvile the Sat before but then realized that's the truck race. Trying to decide now if it's worth seeing or maybe just go on up to Jackson for their Sat night show as we've never been there.

Do you happen to have a pay-out of the 4 day weekend by chance? I feel 4 days at the same track just favors the teams that have the set-up & weakens the chances of other teams who may do much better at other scheduled races. JMO

A rough outline of the purse:
First night is normal WoO purse then...
The ensuing three nights showcase the inaugural Huset’s High Bank Nationals with June 23 paying $15,000 to win and $1,000 to start. June 24 offers $20,000 to win and $1,500 to start with the finale on June 25 providing $100,000 to win and $3,000 to start.

I dunno. Whether it's 1 day, 3 days or 4 days, the top tier WoO teams are the ones that will have things worked out and will win. It'd be the same thing I think, if it were 4 days at 4 different tracks.

With 15 full time WoO drivers, there is still 9 potential $5,500 paydays for local cars to put it in the show for those 3 nights. I think 40 cars is completely plausable considering 4 consecutive nights of racing and zero travel expense during that time.

If you are a sprint car fan and you haven't experienced Huset's Speedway, you owe it to yourself to go. It's a one-of-a-kind stunning venue (that you'll immediately discover when you turn off the road onto the property and say "that's the track?! way down there!?".
You'll enjoy great in-your-face racing, efficiently run shows and moderate prices (especially compared to lots of big event venues).
I suggest sitting towards the top of the bottom sections, vs. the dizzying heights of the 30+ rows above them...as I like being close to the action.
Plus the Sioux Falls area has lots of great places to eat and lodging is affordable compared to about any other decent sized city.
You can leave the track and be about anywhere in the metro area in 15 minutes or less.
The airport is small and not lots of flight options - but you can get there from about anywhere.
And if you'd like to see more of the area, I highly suggest a day trip to the Iowa Great Lakes, about 75 minutes or so East on Hwy 9 (right near he track):

Amusement park, tons of water activities, great restaurants. Even close enough to stay there and go to Huset's nightly. We went there about every Sunday night from the Lakes growing up there.

Well said Derek!. The facility is phenomenal now. They never had to fix the racing at Husets! Tod's ownership solidifies Husets place in history for years to come!

Some other considerations for things to do when in the area for 4 days:
Night life and dining in Brandon:
- Pizza Ranch: Pizza and chicken by order or buffet. Great supporter of Huset’s. Can get Pizza Ranch pizza at the speedway too. Has “County Fair” attached – fun arcade for all ages and bouncies for the kids.
- Casey’s: There is a Casey’s in Brandon with all the offerings of Casey’s that you know. Donuts, pizza, cold drinks – Casey’s – here for good.
- 212 Bar and Grill (has several wing panels and photos on the wall and a wing over the pool table. Sponsors race teams) Has full bar and food menu.
- Tailgators Bar and Grill (general sports bar located right by the interstate. Sponsors race teams) Has full bar and food menu.
- Bottoms Up (sports bar located just across the interstate in Corson, SD. Has a full-size sprint car hanging from the ceiling - yep, your read that right. Sponsors race teams) Has full bar and food menu. Try the chislic, you'll be glad you did.
- Brandon also has some fast-food options such as Taco John's, Subway, McDonald's and Arby's. There's also a great steakhouse in town. There is also a VFW downtown and a couple other bars.
Lodging:
- Glo Best Western is the official hotel of Huset's. It is located just a few miles away on the edge of Sioux Falls.
- Brandon has two hotels just off the interstate. Quality Inn and the Holiday Inn are also located right by Tailgators.
- If you want to travel just a bit more, Royal River Casino and Hotel is about 35 minutes from Huset's. It has a hotel attached to the casino with more than 400 machines, tables and roulette. Royal River sponsors several teams and the track.
Coffee
- Casey’s
- Scooters
- King Bird
Other fun stuff:
- Thunder Road: Outdoor go karts and mini golf plus indoor arcade and laser tag (In Sioux Falls)
- Wild Water West: Water park with lazy river and slides. (In Sioux Falls)
- Aspen Park: Located in Brandon - is generally baseball and softball fields. Also the home of Brandon's city pool. Also includes two RC car tracks - one off-road track and an oval. Tracks are open to the public unless it is muddy. Organized races are on Sunday.
- Golf: Brandon has two golf courses. The Brandon municipal is a great course. If your skills are more like mine, there is Hidden Valley which is a nice par 3 course.
- County Fair – as mentioned before, attached to Pizza Ranch in Brandon. Has a full arcade and bouncies for the kids. Great option for parents!
And worth noting - when you come into Brandon and the speed limit sign says 30 --- make sure you don't go over 30.

Sounds like a fun place to visit with other things to do when not at the races. Appreciate the speed limit warnings, lots of places will not give you 5mph over cushion.

There's also camping nearby
At the track
Big Sioux Recreation Area, literally a mile away
Pallisades State Park 12 miles away
Garrestson City Park 14 miles away
Blue Mound State Park, near Luverne MN 31 miles away
Quite a few commerical campgrounds within about a half hour drive.

And then there's our stellar team of announcers! With Shawn and Johnny in the booth, it's a rare combination that meshes well together and a wealth of knowledge on both the local level and the national scene. Dirtvision viewers and listeners are in for a treat. it's not easy to hear all the commentary when at the track. Austin does a great job in the infield/victory lane interviews also. We're very lucky to have both!
If if you chose to make the trip to the Iowa Great Lakes area, be sure to take the tour at the Okoboji Classis Car showroom. if you like classics. Even if the wife doesn't like cars, the artwork that was done here is nothing short of phenomenal.

I 've been looking at the weather models and right (hope it doesn't change) Friday 6-10 it looks like the weather for 6- 22-25 is going to be hot and dry all 4 days . Maybe a very small chance of a little after the races Friday night but that just a small chance otherwise just hot. We'll see how close I am I just do this for fun and a hobby. Next weekend for Jackson 6 - 17/18 it looks dry & hot with models showing highs near 100 Glen Murra

There is also a very large car show (Automania) going on on Saturday (25th) in Valley Springs, which is 7 or 8 miles east of Husets for something to do during the day. Live bands all day.

Max at 45 cars and after four days of racing, probably taking rubber on Saturday, unfortunately.

With that kind of $$ to start the feature, I think they'll have a good turnout
Not gonna guess specific numbers...

Any invaders coming to Husets this week? Would like to see car counts above the 40s is that gonna happen?
