Greetings! Going to Tulsa this year for the first time. Looking for "must do" places/things for a first timer.
Satursay night the announcers (Placerville) were alking about a bar/restaurant they go to. Was hard to understand the name they cited but was maybe something like "Reddings".
Any ideas appreciated!
Dan

Bring warm clothes!
That wind off the Plains can get BITTER cold! Yea, its indoors, but the walk from your car to the door can make your eyes water....

Only been one time, but go eat at Tally's while you're there. Excellent place to eat and you might even see a driver or three there.

Used to live in Tulsa but moved about 15years ago. Back then a lot of people used to go to the Elephant Run out at Harvard and I44. Some of my friends say a lot of people now go to the Hard Rock Casino during the Chili Bowl week. The Hard Rock is on the east side of town.
When I get back to Tulsa I always have to stop by and grab food at a Coney I-lander hot dog place. There is one on 11th just west of Harvard, so not too far from the track.
I agree with Tally's...it's solid.

Ike's Chili is a tradition for me, at least twice during the week for a three way.

a couple of friends recently opened a new BBQ shop in Tulsa. It's called Oakhart BBQ, good people putting out great food.

Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed the Woody Guthrie museum
Tulsa has given us some great musicians: Leon Russell, Elvin Bishop, JJ Cale, even Anita Bryant! (well, not a great musician, but famous singer...)

Wander around the pits looking for minor celebrities.... I saw Barry from "Storage Wars" & "Daddy Dave" from Street Outlaws.... & Of course old time midget racer & SC&M comedian Kevin Olson is always there selling his stuff
You can have some great conversations in the pits too, plenty of good questions to ask & guys with good answers

And Tulsa Icon, Tommy Crook. Wouldn't it be neet to have Tommy perform the National Anthem one night?

Ted's Escondido Cafe in Jenks or Broken Arrow
The Burn Co. Barbeque
No way I go to the Chili Bowl without visiting both of these places!

Phat Philly's Cheesesteak is a must do every year for me. Maybe 15 minutes from the Chili Bowl.
