I'm confused as to why a once per year subscription fee of $299 is a bad deal. I paid the monthly fee of $39 ($468 per year) for probably 2 years and did not get the "big" races, until I figured out I could SAVE $169 per year and have ALL the races all year. The annual subscription just makes perfect sense. I can watch it on my phone,my iPad, my laptop, and even cast it onto our 55" TV. It doesn't get any better than this.

I am sure I will be corrected if this is inaccurate, but have they not advertised all year that the Nationals would be part of the Fast Pass Dash subscription? The timing of this change is very, very poor from a busines standpoint. Right before the Nationals you change the subscription on the people who have supported you under your advertised programming. This will definitely influence my decision when it comes to renewing my yearly purchase. Up until this point, I have enjoyed catching races when I am unable to get to a track and I will continue to enjoy the remained of the season. As far as next year, I will consider how they treated me as a customer concerning the Nationals.
I understand that the bottom line is being viable as a business, but I will niot be paying for ANY part of watching the Nationals and they might have lost a customer for their yearly subscription. Not exactly accomplishing the goal of more revenue!!
|
I was aware of the 410 Nationals costing extra but the 360 Nationals had the "Fast Pass" logo in the listing on their schedule up until a few days ago when they debuted the new look. Now it's not on there and I'm a little dissapointed but I can still watch the Iron Man the next two nights. I will listen to the broadcast of the 410 Nationals on KNIA/KRLS and follow the text updates on the Knoxville Results page like I did up until a few years ago. The Youtube highlights of the Feature will be posted shortly after the race. If I had not been getting the monthly Fast Pass for the past four months I would have gotten the annual Fast Pass but I'll have already spent $200 and can't justify getting the yearly deal now as that would make my 2021 Dirtvision bill $500. I'm better off to catch what I can this year and get the $299 annual Fast Pass next year when the season starts. That way it will cover all the big races next year.
The past few years I'd get the monthly for a few months during the summer and Saturday night of the Nationals. I'd do that this year but I saw someplace that they aren't offering the single night this year. I wish I had known that because I would have gotten the whole year a couple months ago when I started my annual summer routine. Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like I can't get just the Saturday night. I'm not angry, I'll be fine, just wish that I had known I couldn't purchase the Saturday night only.

I had been getting the monthly for a few months during the summer and the Saturday of the 410 Nationals in the past. If I got the annual subscription now I'll have paid Dirtvision $500 for what I could have gotten for $299. I'm better off to cancel after the next billing until next year and get the $299 deal in the spring. Unfortunately that leaves me on the outside looking in for the Nationals this year. It is what it is, I'll get the annual next year seeing as I can't get Saturday.

Quick update. I knew that I wasn't going to get the 410 Nationals on my monthly pass so I emailed Dirtvision. If anyone wants to get 410 Nationals single nights go to this page and scroll down and you'll find it. Saturday was only about $50 so no worries. My "penalty" for not getting the annual pass is having to watch the Ironman instead of the 360 Nationals, that's such a first world problem. LOL

I was under the impression that the yearly subscription started from the time you bought the subscription, not the beginning of the calender year.

Of course it does. Stan's $500 bucks allowed him to get the 5 months of coverage plus another year. it's not like it's only good for the rest of 2021 if you buy it now.....it's good until aug 2022.

It does but I want to start it next year at the beginning of the season. I plan on allowing my monthly to renew one more time snd then cancel it. I also plan on getting Saturday night of the 410 Nationals separately and after the next renewal runs out in September I will cancel. Next spring I will look at the numbers and see if I can cover both Dirtvision and Floracin. I was just saying that we s how I am going to do it. That will put both of my racing channel renewals within a couple of months for planning purposes. You can start anytime during the year. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
I am watching the Ironman 55 as I type so everything is fine. I emailed with my question and didn't note the time but it wasn't very long, like maybe 20 minutes or half an hour. No problems here.

So.... ....tonight's broadcast didn't do much to make me feel good about laying out 300 bucks. I have been locked in DV for a long time, ponying up for the monthly subscription, but the latest updates to DV are making me question my spending habits . Flo maybe instead of DV? I can bail on all of them, since the only race that matters is the one I'm in.

Why? What happened clearly wasn't Dirtvisions fault with the track trying to fix the PA and tripping a breaker for the PA box. You could plainly see the PA box was dark during the feature.

Some prefer Netflix, some Hulu, some have both based on their preferences and budgets. Somebody chasing races might not watch any streaming races whereas a retired person like me has pretty much replaced live racing with tv racing. I like following the big Sprint and Late Modelraces more than sitting through six classes of Stock Cars and Modifieds at the local track. Someone else might be 20 minutes from Knoxville and wouldn't be anywhere else on a Saturday night so location is a big part of it as well.
That mix of circumstances among us tends to make discussions on the subject turn into debates about live racing vs TV, which streaming channel is best and billing/customer satisfaction. I think one thing we can agree on is that streaming racing has found its niche and is here to stay. Sponsors, car owners and families, friends and fans of traveling racers love being able to tune in when they can't travel and senior citizens like myself have a way to stay connected. When I think back ten years ago we are in a much better place and the coverage is bringing in new fans and sponsors who can follow from home. There are some occasional glitches but its still a relatively new service and it's improving every season.

Stan I clicked on the link you posted and see where it says Saturday´s show for $49.99, but when you try to buy it the payment screen changes to the $125 price.

I got the link in an email from Dirtvision in answer to my question if I could get Saturday of the 410 Nationals. Maybe seeing as it's not until next week they may not have activated the link. We will see what happens next week but worst case is that I will listen to the Knoxville radio station broadcast and follow text updates. I'd like to watch and am going to trust the information they gave me.

I hope your right. I,ve written to them also with no reply yet. Wére planning on having a party, but no race no party. No way am I paying $125 for one race. It seems to me that it would be prudent for Dirtvision and Flo to monitor this site and respond to issue that are related to their service.

You can simply just purchase the PPV, you don't have to pay the Yearly plan. But don't let the door hit your ass on the way out I guess.
