Has Danny retired from sprint car racing? What’s the story?

I may not have it totally right, but basically he was fired from his last ride and replaced with Kerry Madsen.   I believe he is now crew chiefing for Mason Daniel, or at least he was.

He would stll be ranked as one of the top 20 sprint car drivers. As with everyone we all get older and lose a little everyday.Danny was in some excellent rides with Stewart,Big Game, and Forbrock and some others and  always seemed to move on.With the cost of racing today being a mentor or crewcheif spending other peoples money is one thing Danny knew how to do.

I applaud him because he understood it was time to move out of the drivers seat. Sponsors, unless it's a personal deal want the young hot shoe in the seat or a guy that works his arsh off for the sponsor. Today you have to have just as much personality as you do driving talent.

He has his  own car but he does not want to drive unless he can win and he has no backing financilly  to do it.  That is my understanding.

Super Chuck says you are close. Dude drove for Quiring (Big Game/Muddy) 2015 & 2016 and won both NSL championships and two Knoxville Track Championships and had 19 wins together. He raced with Mark Burch (1m) in 2017 and then hung it up. Dude is currently in his third year as a driver coach for Mason Daniel.

The last sentence above seems to relate to a rumor that I once heard. Danny would ‘borrow’ from his rides car owner’s inventory of spare sprint car components to support his own car. Was that what caused the breakup with Stewart since Stewart owned the race shop near Danny’s home at the time?

LOL!!! That must be it.

Super Chuck says you two knuckleheads won 21 races together, so you must've been doing something right.
