Any word on selinsgrove next year? I've heard limited nights for the 360 sprints but 305 sprints almost every week.

I've heard about everything imaginable. Track was going to be made shorter, corners widened and guardrails removed. They were going to run 410's and limiteds late models. Shawn Brouse was going to take over for Steve Inch. Heffner wants out. Were going to run speedsters weekly. Tony Stewart is going to buy the track. They'll probably announce something at the banquet in November. Till then happy rumors.

I've heard all of the above from various people. Bits and pieces of it are true as far as what has been discussed but nothing is concrete yet. There's good people up there who are passionate about what they do. Whatever the next chapter is, it'll be in good hands.

Agree.....never understood why Selinsgrove does not get more love from the fans. If I lived closer, I would attend more than a few races a year. As a fan, I usually see a decent race and get my monies worth every time.

It's my hometrack and I'd love it if they made the track a little shorter with wider corners(higher banked too). I don't think it will ever happen due to cost and diehards of the big half-mile but if it did, I think they would get more cars and wouldn't need to go down to 305's. Who knows? It's not easy to run a dirt track nowadays, fewer cars and fewer fans in most places. Doubly tough in central PA with all the dirt tracks we have competing for those cars and fans. It makes what Port Royal has accomplished the last few years all the more amazing. Peronally, I wouldn't go if 305's were the top division. I'd rather watch 12-14 360's than 24 305's. I don't see them going back to 410's(another rumor being spread). They'd be lucky to get 10 cars.

LOL, if all rumors were true, Tony Stewart would own every dirt track in the country by now!

From what I've been told is 305 will be their own deal and not part of PASS and $1000 to win. All 360 shows are going to be sanctioned byby URC,ESS,PST.

Word in the pits Saturday is that at least two of the regular 360 guys at Selinsgrove have sold all their stuff the #29 and the #66 and word has Westbrook running the Grove regularly with Campbell that would leave only about ten regular cars and Mark Smith spends half his time on the road.

Why would Selinsgrove pay the 305's $1000 to win?
All the other tracks get 30 to 40 or more cars paying $300 to win. Those 305 guys will race for peanuts. Just look at the purse for the 305's in New Jersey.
If I was Selinsgrove I wouldn't be raising the purse for any division until I see what is the size of the weekly crowd. If they do switch to 305's the crowd could be really sparse. The only thing that draws a crowd in central Pa is of course the 410s. The next would be a Super Late Model show. All the rest of the divisions are the undercard every where else. Just look at the crowds when the 410s or Supers are not racing.
The only division around here that had its own following was the super sportsman. It was it's only little world at Silver Spring. The sportsman still have a niche following, and good affordable racing.
