from what I read on Twitter, only 10 big blocks showed & they cancelled due to "extreme conditions". I do see that they're running an open practice though.

This is  sad that the weather didn't cooperate , and it caused alot of modified drivers not to come down to Selinsgrove. A bad start for them , they need a good year so they can make improvements , like changing the pits situation . You know its the number one thing fans would like to happen at Selinsgrove . Also while a certain promoter is involved there they probably won't make improvements unless they have a good year.Oh , well more good races to come and fans will support them .

Nice cheap shot you took at one of the best promoters in the history of Central PA. Nevermind the fact that Silver Spring, Williams Grove and Lincoln have all thrived while he was in charge of them. Before you bring up Silver Spring closing, we all know why that was and there isn't a damn person alive who wouldn't have done the same thing if it was our choice to make. If it weren't for that "certain promoter" Selinsgrove would most likely be sitting there growing weeds this season and it very well could be gone forever so before you get your panties in a bunch over that "certain promoter" who wouldn't let you set up your table for free, maybe take a second to think where some of these tracks would be if not for him. If you need an example, look at what has happened to Williams Grove since he left. It's still better than most, but it's definitely gone backwards. Of course once again I'm wasting my time because it's impossible for anyone to cram any common sense through your thick skull.

While I don't know the entire story of the why and who decided to cancel this race, it has a lot more to do with the sanctioning body overseeing the race and the state of Modified racing in the North East than it has to do with problems at Selinsgrove.

The sanctioning body (Race of Champions) was purchased by a new owner in the off season who reportedly was not aware of the significant amount of unpaid bills and debt that the series carried.  There is now a very public litigation going on, and there is no guarantee of stability or a point fund this year or that the series will even make it through the season in one piece (last year's fund has not yet been paid as far as I know...it is part of the lawsuit).

The series also has a tire rule (Hoosiers) which is the predominant tire in NY because it is also the tire for WRG.  However, this race was in PA.  Most PA and NJ drivers and tracks race on American Racers, so there wasn't anything to entice the more relatively local cars to come run the race.  This was compounded by the fact that another track that draws from the same field of locals (albeit 120 miles away) was running a race the same day with an open tire rule.

The third factor is that this race has been cancelled 4 years in a row...not exactly an enticement to give it a shot.  And since Selinsgrove is a big half mile that's hard on motors on a normal day, a cold day isn't going to help.

So while a lot of factors played into why this happened, I would like to see the justification for making this post about a "certain" promoter, when we all know who you are speaking about, who probably had nothing to do with this fiasco, and was definitely not the topic brought up in the OP.

OK, that's enough about mud turtles on a Sprint car board...sorry. LOL

Thanks for setting the record straight. This seemed like a RoC sanctioning body deal, not a track deal.

I expect ,no ,demand tracks be open for weather conditions of the government choosing . it  is too bad certain promotors who i claim  at times to be close to ,when it suits my needs , still cannot do things as  i have written and told them in their person to do , as the voices in my head tell me to promote the races of our Great Sport .

Pit situations are , of coarse , the number 1 things you , the fans or our Great Sport , are demanding.

Good lord, is this even written in English?  Selinsgrove now has the best promoter in Central PA and one of the wealthiest supporters of dirt track racing in Central Pa as promotors (as well as Steve who seems to be the heart and soul of Selinsgrove Speedway).  Now I do not know who you are or your history on this board but to make a statement so completely ignorant and outlandish is laughable.  As it was said earlier, no one on this planet was going to stop Silver Spring Township from shutting down Silver Spring Speedway.  Are you upset that he took money for his property?  Should he have let the local government come in and make up a claim for his land by way of Eminent Domain and get pennies on the dollar?  What exactly has he done that you instructed him not too that has gone so badly wrong?  Are you upset they didn't put big money into the facility the first year (and yes Susquehanna has done this and has done a great job but the circumstances involving the purchase couldn't be more different. One Susquehanna was a sale and Selinsgrove is a lease and two Suequehanna had willing participants in the sale and Selingsgrove had differences with the promoter leaving).  We all know the pit situation needs to be addressed but let the promoters do their jobs, I'm pretty sure you are not privy to the meetings between the new representatives of Selinsgrove Speedway so please don't come on here and act like you do or that you know better than them.

Calm down & pay attention to the spelling of poster's name. This is the imposter "altLman" He intentionally writes stupid stuff, unlike the real guy, who can't help himself....

He just has a permanent hard on for Alan Kreitzer and Lincoln and Williams Grove Speedways because they wouldn't let him set up his table for his Pa posse fans association (I don't remember much about exactly what his organization even did but I don't know anyone who ever actually joined it) for free and they wanted him to pay like every other vendor who does business on Speedway property during the season. I don't know much about modifieds but what you said makes total sense. I knew there had to be more to it than just weather so that explains a lot. Unfortunately, trying to explain that to Altman was a waste of your time.

No , it was not a cheap shot at said promoter , I do have respect for the person mentioned by others on here . While he has done alot for racing , he has not put any significant amount into  the tracks he promoted ,some but not as much as others. We don't know who saved Selinsgrove , it probably was all parties involved not just one person .My opinions have nothing to do with my past ventures and it was Morgan Hughes that  discouraged me from doing events for fans at the Grove not previous mentioned party . And you say things again that you know nothing about . I have nothing but good intentions to help fans and too see eventually that sight lines improve for fans at S- Grove as do most fans . And as far as cancellation of races  I am not  blaming  anyone for that , it was a combination of reasons why Selinsgrove cancelled .

Damn I thought someone close to you took your computer away from you so you would stop coming here and making an ass out of yourself, you must have been in Mom's closet and found it, so glad your back, I've missed your brand of comedy, you know the kind where you make a snide comment about someone or something you know nothing about, and then when people point out how your being a dick you then you tell everybody what a saint you are and how much you do for our  beloved sport, we have heard this 100 times why not make it another 100 times, 3 cheers for Robert Altman the most misunderstood poster in history

Yep. Kreitzer never did anything to improve anything. Just look at what he HASN'T done at Lincoln alone. Moving the pits outside and then paving them (STILL the only truly paved pit area in Pennsylvania) wasn't an improvement. Everyone hated that move. Then turning the infield into a very nice spectator area complete with a sandbox for the kids to play in.....DEFINITELY not an improvement. Allowing Sensenig's to come in and sell their BBQ......does anyone even eat that shit? Bricker's fries....garbage. Route 30 seafood....no thanks. Yeah, Kreitzer never did shit. At least not NEARLY as much as you pretend you've done. Piss off Bob. No one wants to hear your bullshit anymore.

Selinsgrove Speedway does not want or need your help, either do the fans that attend Selinsgrove. There is absolutely nothing you can or will do to help with rearranging the pits at Selinsgrove, but I can hear you already trying to take credit for the pits when nothing has happened yet! News flash every person noticed the obstructed views, they didn't need Robert the great to point it out to them, but I'm sure you have emailed the new promoters to let them know your on the job, picking out all of the most obvious things that need done to improve it for us the fans. We get it Robert, you have a heart of gold, everything you do and say is to improve racing for the fans, there is only one problem, NO ONE WANTS YOUR HELP!

Again, he's friends with many promoters and knows how to make the overall race night experience better for fans and how to make racing cheaper & better for race teams but NONE of his promoter friends will hire him to implement any of his great ideas at their track. That's all you need to know about Mr Robert Altman!

I'm sure they were the best beans on earth when Charlie ran the track. Now that Alan is involved, he probably isn't a fan of them anymore
