Listening to ASCS Primetime the interview with Jason Johnson he indicated ASCS will not be sanctioning the 360 Nationals at East Bay in 2008. With the tremendous car counts ASCS brought the past 2 years I guess I kind wonder why they would not want ASCS sanction. Could it be due to the Florida DOT rules that ASCS is not going to sanction any shows in Florida?
Anyone else heard anything?

It wasn't because of ascs that they got the big car counts. Guys that were there were probably gonna be there anyway I figure.
This is good. Because look at the 5 national tour drivers right now. 1 is still trying to retire (Wright) Jason and Wayne Johnson are both so talented you have to assume they will move on to bigger and better things eventually. Don't know about Rilat..........but Foster Landon's old man is absolutely loaded. I understand that the National Tour wants to provide racing for people in far off places.......but I think it is truly hurting the national tour. It's such a hit and miss schedule and then you have races in Florida, PA and New York, Minnesota, Arizona, and Virginia. This is not the World of Outlaws. ASCS does not pay 10 grand to win a race. So it's hard for guys to want to waste all that money chasin 50k that you kinda already know is goin to Wright or 1 of the 2 Johnsons.
They should go back to runnin PRIMARILY thru the midwest. With MAYBE one trip out east. Go north as far as you want. But the vast majority of prospects for the national tour come from the midwest and the southern plains. But ascs know enough of what they need to do already. If the want more drivers to come run their national tour........they need a schedule that makes more sense. thats JMO............I'm sure they will do what they think is best. and as long as its still good racin.........
although staggerman..........you may have a good point there about the DoT.

Just to clarify a miscommunication here...
Jason was referring to the two-night event in November, which is not a National event but is now an ASCS Rebel Region event.
The latest I've heard (as of about five minutes ago) is that the "King of the 360's" at East Bay Raceway Park's Winter Nationals in late January will still be sanctioned by the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series.
Thanks...
