This Saturday the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series is set for the 30thannual Cotton Classic at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford. It will be the penultimate event of the season & final visit of the year to the Central Valley. Lemoore’s Carson Macedo brings a 20-point lead over Campbell’s Bud Kaeding into the history filled event. The point lead has changed hands six times in the last seven weekends the series has competed.

Winners of the Cotton Classic since the year 2000 have been Visalia’s Blake Robertson, Aliquippa, PA’s Tim Shaffer, Clovis’ Jason Meyers, Chico’s Stephen Allard, Elk Grove’s Kyle Larson, Australian James McFadden, along with Chico’s Jonathan Allard & San Jose’s Tim Kaeding, who have each captured it three times apiece. Allard & Kaeding will both be on hand this Saturday.

Things are also very tight among the drivers ranking third through sixth in the King of the West standings. Only 29-digits separate Bobby McMahan, DJ Netto, Jonathan Allard & Brent Kaeding. Kyle Hirst leads the series with five wins this year, while Dominic Scelzi claimed the KWS visit to Hanford in September.

The pit gate opens at 2pm on Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway, with the front gate opening at 4:30pm and first heat scheduled for around 7pm. Adult tickets cost $20, with students & seniors $15 and kids 5 & under free. All seating is general admission.

KWS A-main winners this year: Kyle Hirst (5), Tyler Walker (3), Bud Kaeding, DJ Netto & Dominic Scelzi (2), Aaron Reutzel & Craig Stidham (1)

The Keller Auto Speedway is a 3/8 mile clay oval and is located on the Kings County Fairgrounds in Hanford, California. The physical address is 801 S. 10th Ave. Hanford, Ca 93230. More info can be found at www.racekingsspeedway.com

Carson Macedo & Bud Kaeding have fought back & forth all year with the King of the West Series. Going into the Cotton Classic on Saturday Macedo holds a 20-point advantage at the top of the standings over Kaeding. The duo also battled tooth & nail for last week's Trophy Cup, finishing first & second in points.
