Robert Lawton used to promote WoO sprints.

It probably does not surprise anyone who has met him that this happened.

Say that to his face

No interest to.   The only time I have met Lawty was in 1993 or 1994.   Let's just say that he did not leave a favorable impression on me and I have never heard anyone EVER refer to him as a "nice guy".   A sucessful business man, yes (before Saturday),  but never a good person.   I don't see any way of defending his recent actions no matter what your opinion of the guy.

What he did on Saturday in Boone is reprehensible.  Judging by the Boone Speedway apology (and other FB posts) I would guess there is no doubt about the facts in the newspaper story.

What an a $$hole!! And I will call him that to his face if I ever see him. I have a friend in a wheel chair and that is a bunch of crap. If those folks were to contact the people from the Americans with disabilities act Mr Lawton would be in big trouble.

Boone is one of the raciest well ran tracks I have ever attended. You can bet next year the handicapped section will be in an excellent spot due to the controversial remarks made. The best WOO race I have ever witnessed was many years ago at Boone and I remember Sammy was in the TMC1.They have tried weekly 305 sprints and also IMCA sprints but Lawton wants a fast paced show with no yellows.I dont know how many total cars were at the SuperNationals but not many tracks could do it.What happened shouldnt have and wont happen again.

867 cars entered this year.  (modifieds paid $2,000 to the winner)  but that isn't the subject.

I can't believe in the year 2015 and that dump does not have a handicap section.  The great Boone grand Nationals is just a huge back gate promotion to pad the promoters pocket. Those that race that event are paying their own purses.
