I got to thinking reading about various drivers and thought what about others involved in racing like crew chiefs , or  mechanics , past engine builders, car owners who are over due  for some recognization from not only NSCHOF but  at local tracks. Some names come to light locally to me such as Davey Brown , John Zemaitis , Bud Grimm , Bob Kriner , Bruce Thompson , and others , just to mention a few . The tracks should salute these great people  but what about local heroes in your  area that have made  contributions to racing ? Who are your heroes or given much to this great sport that don't always receive  the recognition they deserve ? Have a few in mind ? I'm sure you do .

I trust the NSCHoF to make sure those deserving get in and Knoxville also has a track Hall of Fame to recognize those locals racers, crew, media members etc. who although great on the local scene do not deserve to be in the National Hall of Fame. I believe those desrving are being recognized.

You do know the NSCHoF does enshrine more than just drivers...right?

Yes , I know they enshrine more then drivers , well they don't always vote in those who deserve recognition or it may take time to get into the NSCHOF . I would like to see fans from all over the country have a vote in picking outstanding promoters , drivers, tracks and other awards that the media members pick besides the members of NSCHOF. Separate awards besides the media members ,as I believe fans are very astute in whats going on as well ,but I'm sure you may not agree or wish to have a choice in selection or would you ? Do you know there are alot of mentioned people that are not in the NSCHOF ? for various  reasons but many of members agree they should be in , one is BUD GRIMM for example and another is Davey Brown , but both should get local recognition somehow .

Is there anything about this sport you are happy with? Now you even want to change Hall of Fame voting! There will always be a debate about who should get in and who should not. Just like the NFL or MLB halls of fame. As for local recognition.... that should be up to the local tracks. Fans are involved in who gets in the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame.

Any fan voting on a national award is going to be very biased. Just look at fan voting for stick & ball all star games.

Your song and dance is getting old. All you do is bitch. You critique and pick apart every aspect of sprint car racing. Now you're whining about the Hall of Fame. You know what? As I've said a thousand times before, if you don't like it, either stay the fuck home or put your money where your mouth is and take over a race track, start your own series, build your own Hall of Fame and do it your way. Get involved somehow and by involved I don't mean bitching on a message board or emailing promoters. Get your hands dirty, spend some of your own money Instead of bitching about how others spend theirs and do your own deal. You claim you know how to fix everything (even though you'll never go into any details about exactly how and what you'll fix) so go do it. We're all guilty of bitching about things sometimes but its all you do. Every time you post something, you always criticize the World Racing Group or something and it's getting old. It would be one thing if you actually added something meaningful to this board despite your horrible grammar but the fact that all you do is criticize others while claiming you have all of the answers just makes your terrible grammar that much more of a target.

I am very happy with this sport as a whole, there are parts of it I would like to see improved . I can see I am going have to choose my words more carefully to all of you who don't know me personally . I don't claim to have all the answers as some  suggest , I have said it over and over again that I would like to improve certain parts of racing . Yes, I don't agree with the WRG as to there way of policies or rules  . I do respect Tom Deery and most of his staff but I just think they could improve somethings, as we all can . I don't disagree with the NSCHOF selections or the way they select ,but I personally like fans to have a voice in selection as well .However , there is a few people I'd like to see get in ,that have not made it. But I do think local racing needs to pay tribute more to they local people who have contributed so much of there life to racing and have not been paid homage or enough accolades have been given to them .So I'll  try to spell out or state my case more clearly ,as I love racing and all the people in it .

Wow Robert you have just gone too far this time.  Thinking Bud Grimm  (GREATEST car owner, mechanic, engine builder, thinker, motivator, inovator, tuner and central PA dominator ever) should be in our hall of fame is just insane.  You truly do need to find another sport.  There's certainly no need or even room for your type of thinking here.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Yes ,Bud Grimm was a great Ford  engine builder, mechanic , car owner and a great guy , I said nothing about your other comments and yes he should be in the NSCHOF . Kenny Weld was an innovator , thinker and more but I believe he and Greg are in NSCHOF already .

Then PLEASE post what you a happy with about sprint car racing just once WITHOUT any complaints or remarks on how it needs to be improved. one ALL POSITIVE post! Bet you can't do it.

You have complained about the WoO rules, Tires, facilities, track surface, music played between races, HAll of Fame inducties (or left out), not enough passing, profesional built motors & chassis, concessions, promoters, car counts, over all fan experiance, teams not travelling to shows you think they should and other things about the sport I am sure I have left out. What the hell is left for you to be so happy about in sprint car racing???

Ask some of your local hero's (if you ever actually attend a race) if they race for future accolades and/or induction into a National/Local Hall of Fame or just because they love to race sprint cars. You will find about 99.9% race because they love doing it. Any fame or awards that come after their career is over is just frosting on the cake, not something they thought about while they were racing.

If fans had a vote in who made the NSCHoF you would see all kinds of bias and voting for only their local heros. People like minthess would only vote for those who drove or built ford motored cars. Take a look at who is in the NSCHoF right now and I can not see anything to argue with in who has been inducted.

Are there some others that are deserving? Probably. But just because they are not in yet does not mean they never will be.

You seem to think fans should have a big say in everything about the sport. What ever. I enjoy watching racing as it is and see lots of great sprint car racing every summer. That's what I want.

Isn't it time for...a reply Robert? What is there in sprint car racing today that you are happy with? And does not, in your opinion, need improvement?
