They need to make this an event again and not just another race with the contingencies and the lap money and more to win.

Pretty disappointed with last nights race. Small car count, heave heavy race track. The racing was just not up to par with what this event could/should have been. I know Eagle has no control over the weather, but this was just not a fun race to watch and in my opinion, not worth the $36 dollars I paid to get me and the girlfriend in to the grandstands.

Yea, I think they should have gone with 2 heats.

I'm assuming that some of the NSL guys who weren't in contention for points packed it in for the season.

Nice to meet Bill W & "the Voice", cool little track, would like to go back when its drier...

My first time watching Racesavers, I thought they were pretty good, seemed fast. If they had over 90 cars last week, I think they're here to stay. driving thru Ohio, girl at convenience store counter saw my sprint t-shirt & said her boyfriend drove a Racesaver....

Yep 2 heats would have been enough, the NSL car count was a real letdown, 14 cars for that entrance cost is a real bummer and the racing was real nothing.the 305 Racesaver cars were just a second slower and their racing and car count was fantastic .good job by the promotion getting that racetrack back in such racy condition after removing, im told 15 feet of water on monday.

Should probably go to the outlaw format when 20 cars or less. Run double heats. At least gives more bang for the buck than 3 5 car heat races.

I had a real concern about Eagle getting 20 cars for this race. Not very cool for the Nebraska Cup and then to have a 20 lap main event on that little track come on. Next year hopefully they go back to 360's and run it on sunday night.

If you're going to run double heats, pay some money for the heats.

Fuel isn't cheap.

I talked to Brooke Tatnell last night at St. Croix Valley.  He had three choices, Eagle, the IRA at Superior (Heskin won) or UMSS 360's at Saint Croix Valley.  It's a nine hour haul and they had to be at Amy's father's Memorial tonight at Cedar Lake.  They were running 10th in the points going into last night so aren't contending for the series championship.  Heskin chose a race closer to home as well with the IRA at Superior and won the deal.  I didn't hear how many cars the IRA drew at Superior but I'm guessing in the 20's.  I opted for SCVR because it's only 45 minutes from home.  I think there were something like 17 or 18 360's and 22 Traditional Sprints so their Feature was pretty good as well.  Justin Henderson won in the 360's with Brooke chasing him through lapped traffic.  Since it was the Earl Kouba Memorial and Earl's number was 55 they had a 55 lap Feature with a stop half way.  I have heard a lot of chatter about how they have the 50 lapper at the Nationals but really what it amounted to was two Features with the second one lining up single file.  I wouldn't want to see that for every race but it worked last night.  Winner's take was $5,500 for the 360's so Justin had a pretty good payday.

NOSA Sprints ran last night up at Grand Forks for night two of the Seitz Memorial so there's another multi day Sprint Car show within 300 miles of Cedar Lake, Superior and Saint Croix Valley.  Likely that would have been Dobmeier's destination last night.

Car counts start to get soft with every series when we get into the fall and guys are out of the points chase or saving their stuff for the invitationals.  They blow a motor or run short on funds and a lot of times they opt to park it for the year up here in the northland because this pretty much wraps up our local season.  NSL is kind of dealing with some of those intangibles when we get to this point of the year and things start to wind down.  Cedar Lake should be a good one tonight.  Add whoever shows up from NSL to what the IRA had up in Souptown, throw in the non-wing Sprints and 360's and all the bonus money the Richert family adds to the purse, shake it up, sprinkle in some NSL and I think it's the place to be tonight.  I'm looking for 18-20 360's, 20+ non-wing and wouldn't be surprised to see 30 410's.  No guarantees but I think that's a good guess.  wink

Superior Speedway last night 23 IRA Sprints, biggest draw at the Northern Nationals was 53 WISSOTA Late Models.  Davey Heskin won the IRA show, Late Model and Modified driver Darrell Nelson turned his first ever Sprint Car laps in the Layton #19.  Would have liked to see that as Darrell is a talented driver that has won a ton of races.  He's staying at Souptown for the Late Models and Mods tonight and non-wing driver Chase Viebrock will be in the #19 at Cedar Lake.  If they didn't bend anything beyond repair all we need is seven cars from the NSL to hit the 30 mark.  We could exceed my expectations as I'm fairly certain we'll see more than seven additional 410's.

It's a bit warmer today.  Yesterday's high was around 60 with some cloud cover and breeze.  67 today, sunny and wind only 5mph.  Motors should like the cool weather.  wink

Agree, they should probably take the purse from the b main they don't need to run and put it into the 2nd set of heats.

Actually, two 4 car heats (1 car DNS in two heats) and 1 5 car heat. I don't think 6 four or 5 car heats would be any better. A crash in the first set of heats and you have 3 car heats in the second round. A 15 car A with the hard charger award going to a guy who passed 2 cars! Don't know what tickets were but that was a $10 show AT MOST.

There should be around 40 NSL/IRA sprint cars @ Cedar Lake tonight.  There was 42 sprints @ Angell Park 2 weeks ago when the NSL/IRA show raced there.

Nice to see Darrell Nelson give Sprint cars a try.  I know he's a very successful Late Model/Modified racer up there in the Duluth/Superior area.

They need a differant format if the going to only have 3 heats of 5 cars

would make sense to run 2 heat races twice, invert 2 nd  heat from first.  Where were Huset cars?

39 410's last night.  Didn't get a count on the non-wing but I thought someone said 23 and I believe the 360's came in around 20 or 21.  It's hard to get exact numbers in the infield while wearing ear plugs.  The only thing I know for sure is that I took a lot of pictures.  It was a great night of racing.
