I was in the Dingus one night, looked for a light, when I saw Rico Abreu from afar...
Then the bartender said, face blushed with red, there's just 1 case of beer left in this bar.
A pall swept over the place, drunks started to race, to get to the front of the line...
Rico clawed and wailed, fought tooth and nail, screaming "One of those beers will be mine!"
When things settled down, chaos had drowned, amid the blood, the dust and the fear...
Rico said with elation, start the celebration, I'm 16th in line for that beer.
The crowd cheered and roared, for those lucky 24, as they proudly took their place in line...
Each telling stories, of failure and glory, and how these are the best of times.
But in a turn of events, Rico lost all his sense, something else on his mind it seemed...
His heart wasn't in it, said it's not a sin, I'm just not that thirsty you see.
So he laid down his cash, threw that full can in the trash, and said to the crowd full of shocked faces... "This isn't me, but I'm going to Applebees, though this is one of my fav-or-ite places."

The Butthurt runs strongly Among Fans who are longly, Awaiting their team to make the show.
They whine and they cry, Make excuses to try, To get rule changes don't ya know.
Why all this bother, And hootin and holler, Over a giant of racing you see?
Because he stood on the gas, And whooped your guys ass, While your driver says Woe is Me.
In the end you may say, Rico got in the way, and took your prize and glory.
But you didn't win, Theres no more to defend, And thats the end of my story

I like this one better! I cant remember if it was 78 or 79, but there was a guy named Joe Saldana that finished good enough in the B to start in the rear of the A. He damaged his engine pretty good and it was puffing blue smoke. He knew the engine was gonna let go, but in stead of calling it quits so the first alternate could have a chance, he went ahead and started the main, ran 1 lap and pulled in with a blown motor. I don't believe anyone held that against him. I certainly didn't. I'm pretty sure also he didn't donate his part of the winnings to anyone. Rico loves Sprint car racing enough that if he could have made it back to race he certainly would have.

I'm gonna correct myself because it was so long ago. I went back and checked. He didn't run the B main. He burned up the motor in hot laps prior to the A main.

So Rico didnt race........ Whats it matter??? People act like if someone else had the spot that they coudnt obviously earn then it would have made a difference in the way Schatz led all boring 50 laps of the shitfest which is the donny nationals. knoxville should have let all the cars that coudnt make it in the race so Donny could lap all of them and keep him busier winning another nationals and earning that money so it would be fair that little bobby got to start instead of Rico's car

It doesn't matter to me. Everyone just needs to get over it. Start lobbying Knoxville to run the Nationals without wings like it used to be. Then Donnie's dominance will go away.
