Tough break for Andy in the feature...but as Bill Sullivan noted in the post-race interview with Colby, I guess it was a cosmic reversal of what happened last week at the Placerville. At least the #92 stayed in one piece and finished in the top five.
---
I met some of Jeff Delte's fans and associates (after communicating with them online for a bit over the last few weeks), they're pretty cool. Of course, the one night I finally meet up with them...their guy has engine trouble and doesn't even make it to the heats.
---
Sammy Swindell's shakedown runs in the #64 during on-track intermissions were pretty damn entertaining to watch, I think he popped a wheelie or two for fun. Hopefully he'll be in the big show on Saturday.
---
Anyone got an update on Jay Youngman's condition? His flip during qualifying for the wingless sprints was rather scary, and he apparently was unconscious right after the wreck. He was alert by the time the track workers began the extrication process, which took a while (the roll cage had to be cut to get him out of there)...that red flag really pushed things back a bit as the Civil War qualifying began right at the tail end of sunset.

Congrats to the young guns. Moore (3) and Larson. (5)
Best of luck to them tonight at the Gold Cup!

Congratulations to Brandon Davis for his main event win and the track championship in the spec sprints. It was up for grabs until the last lap with Matt Streeter in 3rd. Safe to say that Brandon will also be rookie of the year.

Davis not only had to hold off Streeter...but Hannestad as well. One hell of a performance from the #19, and a well-deserved championship. Streeter gave it all he got but wasn't able to use the lapped traffic to his advantage.
Speaking of the kids, they really put on a good run - and Larson capitalized on Forsberg's overaggression rather nicely.
