I have an issue with your opening sentence about people not equating Wisconsin with sprint car racing. Maybe that is the general perception, I wouldn't know, as I am a homer and more than anything else go to IRA races because that is what's within a reasonable driving distance for me. But I believe that per total acreage, we have a very high ratio of dirt tracks, and many of them hosting sprint car races at least once a year. 30 IRA races, weekly shows at Plymouth, in the near past weekly shows at Manitowoc and Wilmot. We have far more winged racing than Indiana but far less non wing. Although I give Wilmot credit, as they started up a new non wing crate motor class this season and it seems to have generates some interest.

Behind Pennsylvania, California, Ohio, who has a better sprint car racing scene than Wisconsin? I should also add that the IRA has been operating continuously for decades. I believe they are the longest tenured sanctioning group in existence actually.

One other thing, your history of the track is off. That track has been there for way longer than that. I remember my dad racing there when I was a kid and I'm 38. Someone recently (maddog53) showed up me old pics of the place when there were trees beyond the turns and the back straight 'wall' was concrete slabs standing on end and people would hide out in between them and watch from up close.

But yeah, thanks for putting BD up this high on your list. I agree it's one of the most 'racey' tracks there is and they've done a good job with it. Would be cool to see the all stars and NSL on their schedule in the future.

Being bordered by Minnesota Iowa and Illinois helps too. We get WoO, all stars, NSL, mowa, and random travelers.
