"These are the tires from Lernerville," Dietrich said. "We started in a handicap position, and we didn't really want to bolt a new set of tires on.

"We joke every week about putting on an old set of tires for the feature. This was the first time all year we put used ones on, and here she sits."

NICE!!!

Thank God the new HR15 (Almost as soft as an old D10) qualifying tires ended up being too soft to even run in the features around here just like the D10s were back in the day unless it was really wet.

Still quite stupid that they burn off a separate set of soft tires in qualifying now plus necessitate high dollar qualifying engines though.

And no doubt Hoosier will eventually make the new softer HRs last the feature since they are in the new tire selling business, not the people winning races on used tires business.

At least Knoxville knows better.
