There is a T-shirt of California's youngest sprint car driver, Kyle Larson, 83V Vertullo Racing, on its way.

Hope they post a list of all T-shirts donated to the auction at the National Open Chili Cook Off at Williams Grove Speedway. It would be interesting to know how far reaching this effort to honor Billy Kimmel became.

83V...........I have lost track of all the donations as it relates to Billy's Dream. I will do my best to record all of the donations at the Cook-Off and let everyone know eventually. Props to all for their generosity!!

Alrighty...I've got a 2005 6.0 Silverado that I've put WAY too much time and money into:

Comp Gen III Solid Roller Cam; Balanced Rods and Crank; Polished/Ported Aluminum Heads; Tremec 6-Spd Transmission; Magnacharger Blower; MSD 6BTM Ignition Control w/ Blaster SS Coil; JBA Cat4Ward Headers/Exhaust; GroundForce CTR Suspension; Fast Flash Power Programmer; Davis Technologies "Enhanced" Drive Unit...but I've got a funky electrical gremlin.

Under heavy acceleration (like I accelerate any other way) from roughly 3,200 to 4,400 RPM my headlights, dash lights, running lights....pulse. I mean PULSE, like the truck's possesed by the devil. I don't think it's a voltage problem, and I know for sure it's not a ground issue.

Any suggestions?

faster are you sure you dont have a ground issue like something is pulling on something when the engine is under torque and then it relaxes as the rpms level out i worked at a chevy shop for about 2 1/2 years and gm has some serious electrical issues at least they did back in 02, 03 something else you might want to look around at would be the BCM ( body control module )

I think you may be on to something...

Someone else told me that there may be an interface problem between the BCM I've used and my new PCM. I've programmed them both specifically for my truck, however neither was intended for this vehicle nor were they intended to be used together???

I develop just over 500lb ft of torque at 4400rpm and wonder if under a load the modules develop some sort of resistance issue...

Frustrating!

Jordan and friends...

Look for a FedEx delivery (big Office Depot box) some time around mid-day or so. I've got more on the way and hope to have them to you prior to this year's event.

If not, you've got a head start on '08.

Take care!

Ok, now I'm sure the truck is possessed by Satan himself.

If I manually turn my headlights on...no problem, as opposed to leaving the selector on "Auto". Even stranger, if my stereo system is on, no pwer surge/flickering lights.

Help me Mr. Wizard!!!

Oh I got issues brother...

Some little HS football hero (big game this week, local rivalry, bon fire, out late crapola) weenie pulls up next to me last night in his mommies 75k, Z06 and starts trying to goad me into "drag race".  Well it don't take much to get much to get me goin' (big shocker) with the middle aged, ED, HDL/LDL thing workin' over-time...

I was in second gear, oh...maybe an eighth of a mile in front of linebacker billy when every light in my truck went out...for maybe a second and a half, came back on...and no pulse/flicker!  Linebacker billy had been sufficiently beaten down, my lighting issue seemed to be gone, but NOOOOOOOOOOO

Now my f - ing spedo doesn't work.  The light pulse issue is gone, I mean poof...weird.

I need a priest and some holy water!

faster i still say it is a bcm or now maybe a pcm problem more than likely it is a bad connection in the wiring harness what you need to do is have someone what the truck while you start wiggling every part of the wiring harness until it starts to act up check every ground in the truck ( maybe see if some one at a dealership could print off the wiring diagram and ground locations for you ) and make sure they are tight gm has some serious wiring issues i dont think it is anything serious just time consuming you going to the grove this weekend ????

Wiggle my wire???

I wish I were brother, but I'm half-way (more like half assed) involved with helping promote a show in CA this weekend with the NCRC and I'm actually set to drive our 996 sc4 in a road race.

My wife loves road racing and puts up with my affliction (I say affection) for dirt track, and after my four week road trip in August...

I sent out a big-assed (actually checked that specific box on FedEx receipt) box of items for the auction last week, and a smaller box yesterday - hopefully Jordan is in receipt!

I will be at the Tulare, Manzanita and PAS shows next month however...

I hope you guys made a boatload of money on the auction and was wondering what a final count was on the donations? Everyone involved in this did an awesome job and sounds like it was a great success.

Alrighty cc47,

I think my gremlin has been slain!!! I purchased new BCM and PCM from Jet Performance, installed/programmed specific to my truck and I've got nary an electrical issue one with the vehicle. TY for the input.

Did you make it to The Grove for this past weekend's event? Hope all went well with the Cook-Off/Auction! I'm actually in the process of trying to plan next year's road trip, and I'm done with the WA/OR/Nor Cal shuffle...been there done that.

May have to fly east and rent a vehicle for three weeks or so (the commute in the 40'-er takes too long and costs too much), I'm open to suggestions for times/venues. I'll have my 12 year old son in tow...he's gonna be my designated driver! Crap he's already taller than most sprint car drivers I know wink
