Interesting to see Garry Brazier on the list when I was just looking over the entries. Anyone know who he is driving for? Would that 21au he the car he totalled at Eldora a few years ago maybe? I believe he keeps some gear over here at Stantons from memory?
On his night- still the best Australia has ever sent over here in my opinion.

I'd have to say that the Madsen brothers and Tatnell have done well for themselves as well as far as results here in the States.

I'd go with Max Dumesney in the mid-late 1980's or even Skip Jackson.
Back then Dumesney was competitive (won Race of States during Nationals as I recall) and won weekly shows even though 410's weren't even though of in Australia back then (they ran 372's).
Skip Jackson won track championship at Knoxville, went to PA to race for Zemco maybe??? and then Keen (and won out there too as I recall).
Today's drivers are on a much more even playing field (they drive 410's "back home" and in America).
Dumesney, Garry Rush, Tatnell, Skip Jackson, and Garry Brazier all started here at a disadvantage when it came to experience with that much power. Just think, we've been lucky enough to see these guys race on our shores (to a lot less fanfare than ANY American that races on theirs).

All the guys mentioned are outstanding talents from OZ and pretty much all of them have more results on the board than Garry here in the States. On results alone, it has to be Kerry Madsen followed by Brooke.
Garry never really hung around here long enough and probably wasn't in the right situation a lot of the time.
I'm just saying.....on his night, I've seen Garry race at a level you only really associate with Steve, Sammy, Doug and Donny. Kerry, is close, but in his prime, Garry was the man!

Didn't Garry have the Mopar deal before Mark?

Super Chuck says Garry took his turn in the resurgence of Mopar, with the return of Gary Stanton's ride. Other drivers in the Stanton 75 included Randy Shenanigans, Joey Saldana and Craig Dollansky before the Mopar deal went to (and eventually ended with) the 5m.

Bobby Davis Jr. ran the 75 for a short time as well didn't he? I'm pretty sure I remember him running it at Williams Grove when I was a kid. Never ran well but it was a cool looking car.

Been over here a month or so. Son Jordyn has been running Knoxville and Husets. Garry has been the wrench

Garry hasn't race a lot in the previous season for a few reasons:
1. Jordyn his son has begun his career and GB has stated numerous times he prefers to help and teach Jordy rather then race himself.
2. Steve (Garrys dad) is/was quite unwell so unable to travel and assist with the team. Therefore they can only run one car at a time due to lack of resources.
As has been mentioned Jordyn is racing out of Knoxville and Husets at the moment an improving every night, he actually ran second to TMac at Husets a few weeks ago.
During their current trip they will basically be sharing the car and alternating drivers as required. The car they are running is a J&J (its a new one, not the one from Eldora a few years ago) with a Stanton engine. In Aus they run a variety of engines, but i believe they have KRE do a lot of their work downunder nowdays whilst still running Stanton gear.
Garrys plan driving wise is pretty limited - he is planning to do the Capatani Classic on August 9th, then Osky on August 10th. IF and only IF he feels he is running ok he will then race the Nationals. Don't count on him being there, i think its more unlikely then likely.
Jordyn will be running the 360 Nationals.

Garry in his prime in Australia was almost untouchable and was a little hard to deal with to put it mildly, I always loved the guy. His Father Steve was considered to be the Karl Kinser of the country, a great wrench. Garry raced where he wanted and when and often took off lots of time which angered the sprint racing council over there as he often had the Aussie1 on his tail tank which denoted the previous years National Champ. Brooke Tatnell a loved Aussie racer with great success at home and not too bad over here once told/showed me in a talk that Garry had more talent in his little finger (he held it up) than he had in his whole body and he meant it. The talent didn't always produce results but when he wanted to and things were right he was a sight to see, ask Steve Kinser. He also flew home from the USA once when running the Outlaw tour without telling his Father who was his crew chief at the time, oops. All in all I found him a great guy who loved the sport but danced to a different drummer than most, miss him.....

I think Garry running the car one of these nights would be a good idea. That should help get a feel for what's going on with the car for Jordyn as well. Jordyn has improved out of sight from where he began, but sharing the car a little I think would get them where they need to be quicker.
