MSCS WILL BE RACING AT LINCOLN PARK SPEEDWAY ON JULY 3rd
Haubstadt, IN - June 30, 2015 - The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be appearing at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN, Friday night July 3rd. The series will be the featured attraction for day one of the First Annual Bill Gardner Sprintacular. The 30 lap feature that night will pay $4,000 to win! With sprint cars running at the track on both Friday and Saturday it will be the race place to be for open wheel fans. The weekend events are being held in honor of the founder of Indiana Open Wheel.com. The web site continues in keeping racing enthusiasts all across the Hoosier state and beyond enlightened and informed.
Chase Stockon is the most recent MSCS feature winner. His win at Tri-State Speedway on June 27th moved him into a tie for fifth on the All Time Winners List. It was also his second of the season in the series. The other win came at Lincoln Park Speedway to begin the 2015 season. That race was the Indiana Open wheel.com Racin’ Fest which also paid $4,000 to win.
Brady Short continues to lead the Midwest Sprint Car Series points standings. He is looking to win a second series title. He took the Championship back in 2011 and was the runner-up to Kyle Cummins last season. Short already has four feature victories this season. Thomas Meseraull joins Stockon as past MSCS winners at Lincoln Park Speedway this season.
Carson Short is currently the closest rival for the 2015 MSCS Championship. He is now 33 points behind Brady Short after cutting the lead by 5 points with a third place feature finish at Haubstadt. The last three races Carson has finished third, second, and fifth. He is setting his sites on that first win.
The Midwest Sprint Car schedule is just half completed. Ten of twenty races have been held. The second half of the season holds a lot of promise. Most of the purses for these races exceed the standard $2,000 to win pay-off. On August 1st Tri-State Speedway will once again host the Hoosier Sprint Nationals paying $5,000 to win.
Robert Ballou is currently third in series points. He has two runner-up feature finishes and five top fives this season. A list of the remaining top ten in points here at mid-season include veteran Jon Stanbrough, 2014 Rookie of the Year James Lyerla, four time and defending champion Kyle Cummins, and rookie Brandon Morin along with Chase Stockon, Jeff Bland Jr., and Donny Brackett.
Fans who attend the weekly races at Lincoln Park Speedway have watched regulars race hard week after week. In seven regular shows there have been 5 different winners. Chad Boespflug has the most victories with three LPS wins. Fifteen different drivers have had podium finishes. Therein is the challenge waiting as MSCS visits Lincoln Park for the third time this season. Don’t miss this newest race on the schedule.
