What's with the swith from MP3 to MA4 file type? Have been enjoying dowloading the file to my MP3 player which is a Sandisc Clip Sport so it's one of the more popular brands on the market. It won't play MA4 files so you just lost a listener I'm sad to say. MP3 is the industry standard podcast format. Not going to sit at a computer and listen to this thing, good shows but not that good.

ITunes wasn't working properly on the download, so it may have saved as an M4A instead of MP3. It's getting checked on in the morning by my producer. It's a one-time thing.

I run Linux so I can't join iTunes. I download directly from your link. I have done podcasting in the past and currently write and record songs with a friend that we post on Reverbnation so I know a little bit about the subject of creating audio files. The file wasn't saved as an MP3 so whoever did it if the intent was to post an MP3 chose the wrong file type.
Here's a sample of an audio file that we posted recently, I think we've got recording MP3's down pretty well.

I got into the office and have checked into this. You are correct, it was saved wrong as a file. We reviewed options — resaving it being the main one — but that would wipe out all the numbers on it and would be a logistic problem with the way things are calculated.
The best way to handle it this week, since it is done already, is to let it go the way it is. This is a one-time thing and our producers have made notes as to how to avoid this in the future.
I'm not happy about this situation and apologize for the inconvenience. The only suggestion I can make is to go to the original post through Hoseheads or sound cloud and listen to it that way. Again, this is a one-time thing and will be fixed in the future.
Furthermore, I appreciate you bringing this to my intention. I want to make things as easy as possible for listeners, and I apologize for this screw up. It won't happen again.

Thanks and I understand the time and hassle correcting. Believe me, I have had to redo plenty of mixes for one reason or another. We're working sometimes with up to a couple dozen tracks that need volumn adjusted and panning, etc., so it gets pretty crazy. Didn't mean to come off like I was boasting on the tunes, just a couple of old guys, myself 63 soon to be 64 and my friend Dan 65 having fun. No gigs, no sales, just putting our stuff out there because we still can. I just meant to illustate that it's not that complicated to save to MP3 and as usual got a little carried away making my point.

No worries. I'm always looking on feedback to make things better. After even further investigation, we had a computer issue, which is being rectified. Everything should be back to normal next week.

Yeah, we are working on it. I think we are going to go the route of headphone microphones. That should, hopefully, take care of the problem. Thank you for listening and the feedback. We will be making improvements.

Mike Heffner will be on this week's edition of PennLive's Sprint Car Unlimited podcast. A second and maybe third guest will be released later.
