Craig Dollansky was supposed to be on the show but had something come up. James McFadden joined the show and talked about a variety of topics, including dished wings, which was unexpected.

We are hoping to reschedule Dollansky. Who else would you like to hear on the show?

Im sure Danny DIetrich would provide some interesting answers provided the right line of questioning. What about Rico? Im not 100% sure who you've had on as a guest in the past. I just started listening recently and am enjoying the podcast though. You and John are doing good work.

Anyone who supports a format change for the national open. Imagine the possibilities if those three days were used differently....love the show btw

How about getting the Pink Haired Lady on. I also liked when you had Alan Kreitzer on. How about instead of putting on front runners and feature winners , why not have some middle / low budget drivers on sometimes and get their veiws?

As much as I would like that, it's really tough to get her. We will be working a little harder on our guest list, so getting drivers with lower budgets is definitely a possibility. Thanks for the feedback.

How about Charlie Paige at the end of the season when he might be willing to speak his mind about the state of dirt track racing in central PA?

Kathy Hughes for sure. I'd love to hear her explain why the crowds keep getting worse and why she won't take the money she spends on the numerous fireworks displays and put it into the purse instead to try and help the car counts. There's a lot of criticism surrounding the Grove. Most is justified, some isn't but I'd like to hear her take on it.

Can you have on Carlton Reimers sometime? Ask him why the Outlaws went to a softer tire this year. Ask him odds of 1425 lb weight rule like other people are talking about. Ask him if any new chassis construction rules are coming down the pike. Ask him what shocks are going to be legal and illegal next year. Ask him his thoughts on Brad Doty's idea of having a wing angle rule to unhook the cars during heat races and cure dirty air.

Interesting thing in this week's show in regards to wings. James McFadden eluded to difference in dished wings in Australia. Liked dished better. McFadden was a really good interview.

Australia sprint cars get to utilize the wing that was allowed in 2007 and prior.
The rule makers said the 2007 and prior wing was to good- so new rules was made for the current wings in USA.

Yeah, he said they were stuck harder with a dished wing so you could pass better in dirty air. No surprise. That's why they did away with dished wings because they are stuck too hard. He also said they have short tracks in Australia and they only race 40 races a year. Problem is we here we have 1/2 mile tracks, we race 100 races and motor costs are the main problem. That is what has segmented the sport into a bunch of different motor classes. They are already knocking on track records again as it is. A wing angle rule is a much cheaper solution to dirty air. When people start detuning their motors to hook them up and running them 15-20 races on a rebuild like they were starting to do with the Goodyears then you see car counts start to rise. Even in the middle of a recession. You go back to sticky tires and dished wings and car counts will fall. It's not rocket science. Look at what happened to the 358s when they made them more expensive. They need to just unhook all of them and do away with any cubic inch displacement rule like the late models. Perfect timing with the 358s down and Selinsgrove in question.
Everyone knows what the problem is. You have a bunch of people who want the rules to go away and they say track prep is the key. What they are really saying is UNHOOK the race track instead of the cars. You never had to before. A lot of fans like cowboy up racing. And you have a bunch of people who don't like the idea that it needs done but are smart enough to know that the cars need unhooked. Same thing has happened in just about every other racing class throughout history for cost and safety reasons. Can-am, F-1, IndyCar, Nascar and Late Models. Bigger stickier tires and more downforce makes any race car faster. Why dI they always end up going to smaller, harder tires and less downforce?
Better yet conference call John McCoy and Carlton together since Knoxville stayed with the harder tire and want to go to 1425 lbs.

Can't argue with what they have done with Late Model racing. Went through a bad spell and now seem to be thriving ... at least when it comes to the series events and bigger shows. They are like locust.

Would love to hear Mark Smith go into detail about the differences between 358, 360, and 410 racing.
