_Fan Appreciation Day to be held Saturday at Gold Cup _

(Chico, CA 8-30-07)...On Saturday, September 8, the 2^nd Annual Fan
Appreciation Day and Driver Autograph Session will be held in the
afternoon at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. Starting at 11:30 am and
ending around 2 pm, fans will be let into the Silver Dollar Pavilion to
meet and greet their favorite World of Outlaw drivers and local sprint
car stars. It will be a chance for the fans to get autograph cards from
their favorite drivers, take a picture and have the chance to pick up
some merchandise. All of the top drivers are expected to attend. Staff
for both the World of Outlaws and Silver Dollar Speedway will be on
hand
also. The Silver Dollar Pavilion is located near the outside of turn
four. It is also where the famous bikini contest is held on Friday
night.
During the autograph period and sitting right outside the pavilion will
be the annual Alan's Rib Roast hosted by the Placerville Gang. The
barbecue features ribs, beans, salad and other goodies. The rib roast
takes place right next to the Pit Entrance and offers a good view of
the
incoming haulers for the sprint car teams. This tradition has been
carried throughout the years by the great fans and drivers of
Placerville Speedway. The time of the barbecue is scheduled to start at
noon on Saturday and last until the food runs out.
On Saturday the greatest sprint car drivers in the world will attack
the
racy Silver Dollar Speedway. The big draw will be the 40-lap, $50,000
to
win A main event. Over 75 cars are expected to return on Saturday night
and take a shot at the Gold Cup's allure and the big payday associated
with winner's circle.
