I will list 3 rules which I think are silly and hope that others can add more

Racesavor only allows you to use a 5.7 inch rod in engine.  A 6 inch rod cost the exact same at a 5.7 and the piston for a 6 inch rod cost the same.  I hate to pick on Racesavor but they now allow a Dart 305 block which is OK, but they allow you  to C&C lighten the block which takes off 20-25 pounds I am told.  This costs $800 to $1000 dollars and Racesavor  wants to save you money.  I think if you can afford a Dart block you should have to live with the extra weight.  Now to WOO.  WOO has a 1400 pound weight limit of car and driver.  It is impossible to get to the 1400 lbs if car is put together with regular parts.  You need Ti bolts, wing trees, brake peddle, shafts in rear and drive shaft.  You need a extra light rear axel.  They then C&C lighten the alum. blocks and heads and I have even heard of intake manifolds.  The required full containment seats added 2 to even 3 times the weight that old seats weighed, but they left pounds  of cars at 1400.  Why not raise the weight of car and driver to 1450 lbs or more and save teams a bunch of money.  Some alum blocks have cracked because so much material was taken out.

First it is Racesaver. Contact French Grimes with your complaint or questions. You can find a phone at racesaver.com.

Does not use email and all the other communications, just the tried and true phone in which you have to verbalize directly to him.

the stroke of your 305 crank can be manipulated with the rod length ,compression hieght , ect,  I dont think the 5.7 rod is nessesarly aimed in the area of cost savings, but it gives a guideline MANDITORY to abide by, ASCS has gotten out of hand simply because of the negotiation of rules, and sadly they are consistantly being altered to $$ in cost to build a competitive 360 in todays 360 class , (thats a fact), in my region IMCA modifieds have become a car with 15-20k latemodel motors in, the claim didnt work here, now it becomes a cookie cutter class with crate engines of which im not a big fan of , im simply not a big fan of crate engines period.  not in racing. but its all in the eye of the beholder, be carefull what you wish for, you may get it? will the racing get better? as for 410 weight, I personally tip the scale at 175lb, Brad Sweet is proubly in the 150ish range, Steve Kinser is proubly pushing over 200, so does the weight of the car mtter when the driver effects the top 10% of the car? weight doesnt equal talent, talent doesnt equal weight , it only matters who has the best night when the push truck hits the bumper .
