The new Sprint Car and Midget Magazine seems awfully heavy with the ASCS. Nor mucch WoO, I heard that Emmitt and Lanny control it

Based on the past issues, I do not think ASBS controls it. But, you have to throw the dog a bone once in a while.

Instead of saying what I immediately wanted to, I will simply say that I have read the magazine for years and firstly the magazine isn't new at all, the people are extremely genuine, and I haven't ever seen a bias.

It was the ASCS season preview issue.... Hence the focused content on the ASCS...

Believe Hahn is part owner, or an original investor. Not certain where it sits today.

Any magazine dedicated to Sprint Car Racing is a good magazine! I enjoyed the ASCS preview.
Sprint car racing is life. The rest is just details...

Gee, I wonder if the reason it seems to have more coverage about ASCS than the WoO, could be that there is a LOT more to cover. The WoO is only one national series with only about 12 full time teams. This compared to ASCS's national series with perhaps the same amount of followers but when combined with all their other series and total number of events, the news and media opportunities for the ASCS far outweighs that of the WoO. Seems to me that equal coverage has always been offered by the magazine. I've been a subscriber ever since its first edition and have never felt that Emmitt or Lanny received any preferential considerations.

The WOO season preview article was 2-3 issues ago....the USAC season preview article was last month... ASCS is this month... If your conspiracy theory was valid wouldn't you think the ASCS preview would have been the first of the 3 to get printed, and take up many more pages? Especially considering that all 3 series started thier seasons in February in Florida.
For the record, I think SC&M Magazine is the best publication we have ever had covering our sport. I like Flatout, and I used to love OpenWheel mag, but for my money SC&M wins. SC&M doesn't have as many tech articles as OpenWheel used to, but the internet pretty much assures that anybody racing a sprintcar can get any knowledge they need without waiting for a magazine article. Many people prefer Flatout magazines content, but I tend to have a difficult time reading and enjoying articles that are as riddled with grammar, spelling and punctuation errors as many Flatout articles tend to be. I absolutely love the lineup of monthly columnists in SC&M, the "Racer on Racer" story each month is always great, and quite frankly I would be willing to pay for my subscription each year just to get to read each chapter of The Best Of Times and nothing else.
When OpenWheel went out of print I was pretty upset. Luckily I ran into one of the original writers/founders of SC&M in a motel lobby one morning while in either Dayton, OH or Ft Wayne, IN for the Rumble series. He told me the new mag was coming soon, I got a subscription form from him right then and there, signed up in time to get issue #1 mailed to me, and haven't missed one issue in the 13-14 years it has been in print. SC&M has done a great job filling the void left by the closing of OpenWheel and I hope all the fans of our sport support it enough that they never shut down publication.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I love my SC&M but but for the love of God can Kevin Olson please talk about something other than wishing it were 1971 and midgets on a double decker trailers behind a station wagons? Please.

Sprint Car and Midget is my favorite of all the racing magazines. It has great writers and a beautiful product. I'm older so I love the articles about the old timers but there is plenty in that magazine to please all ages. Doug Auld who produces the magazine was also one of the main people at Open Wheel and is a terrific guy who has dedicated his life to promoting all types of sprints and midgets. I can pretty much guarantee you that Emmett Hahn owns no part of the magazine and neither does the WOO or any other group. We need more guys like Doug to help grow our sport.
I also like SpeedSport and Flatout and certainly miss the old Speed Sport but Sprint Car & Midget is the best.
