Due to the current rain and the forecast of rain thru out tonight and with a forecast of 60% on Friday, the decision has been made to postpone the "Sprints Gone Wild" event scheduled for Friday May15th. NSL Officials, along with the staff at Jacksonville Speedway, will work hard to try and find a make-up date if possible. We will inform everyone if and when a make-up race gets scheduled. Stay tuned to the NSL website and facebook pages for further info...z

Disappointing but glad that it was decided early. Hope a reschedule date is found.

Sunny and clear in jacksonville.
I don't see the need to call a race before 7:00 am the day of the race.

With a 50% chance of rain tonight and the rain from the past week, along with the forcast for knoxville saturday night (not NSL) being 50% and wilmot also 40% I would say that the NSL group Is doing their drivers a favor! For example Mark Dobmeier it is 825 miles to get to Jacksonville from Grand Forks. Figure a couple bucks a mile for operating costs, they have $2000 tied up into the weekend without even dropping the door on the trailer. It has happened to many teams in the midwest already more than once this year.
It sucks and im bummed I dont get to see any races, but their decision is understandable.

Beautiful day most of the day today. Yesterday at about noon, the local TV weatherman we consult with to get 'real' answers to questions like "what's it really gonna do?" sent me this email:
"The rain chances are showing up as very spotty/scattered right now for Friday afternoon, but there is a healthy little thunderstorm cell popping up in the vicinity of Jacksonville heading into early Friday night." Joe
That for sure wasn't the only information we used, but he nailed it.
It came down to this... as of 6:00pm Thursday night as some teams had to start heading this way were the odds in our favor of seeing this race to completion or not? Were the people who paid to come going to enjoy the experience or be here just because they already bought a ticket? Finally, when people look at the radar on Friday afternoon, are they going to want to drive an hour or more to watch a race? The forecast on Thursday was pretty clear the answer to al of the above was "No" - regardless of how good of a show we had in store.
BTW, It's pouring in Jacksonville Illinois right now at 4:20 Friday afernoon.
