After the WoO show I saw Saturday night at Eldora, I'm inclined to agree with you. I asked my racing buddy that the next time I want to see an Outlaw parade - and that's exactly what it was - somewhere, anywhere, to just take my money and flush it down the toilet, blast some crap music in my ears, and kick me in arse. The effect would then be the same. More power to those of you who think this is the "greatest show on dirt", but I feel it's far from it.

I agree  with your comments , it seems like to me everything has to be right especially the track conditions to see a GOOD RACE from the WoO team . I wasn't there but it looks like the track wasn't too good either , as it appeared dusty on tape of race I saw .

The Friday show was better, according to people that were there. The problem Saturday was that the track was narrow because of rain that hit the speedway during the day. The week before, the racing was really good at Pevely and Tri-State.

Every track has a bad race at some point. It happens.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.  Three are those are in CA.  I have seen woo shows in CA, PA, OH, and Iowa, over many, many years. Maybe I just have really bad luck....but those shows were nothing but parades. Yes, the track was heavy and narrow Sat night, but somehow the USAC guys managed to pass. I counted just one single pass for position in the four heats. One single pass for 30-some cars in 4 heats. Schatz on the pole .... gone. It's just an overhyped parade. Again, if you like that, great, but for the money for one outlaw race one can catch 3 local shows (name the division) that will most likely be better racing.

New clay equals some dirt for the first few months, not much you can do about it.  ...it wasn't like you couldn't see the track.  The tires weren't the issue this week as the racing would probably have been more competitive if the track had slicked off and took rubber.

What do you expect when Donny is on the pole?  As soon As the dash pill draw came up with a 6 to put him on pole most of us knew there wasn't much chance he would lose since he hardly ever wrecks or has a part failure.

While there was a pass for the lead late on sat. the worst race of the weekend was actually the Fri. Wingless usac race not WoO.

BTW was glad to see the show done before midnight on Saturday even though heat in motors was over 2 hours late because of rain.

Guess you are a smartass. What would know about paying for a ticket with you own money anyway? I'm sure you get your little "press pass". I've read my last column from you and your paper. You don't hold a candle to Bob Chorpenning or Jerry Reigle.

Easy there Larsonfan.

I point out 5 of the 23 races (I'm sure there are more, the Volusia races seemed good as well) that featured great action, and you point to the blind squirrel theory. You go to 1 event that featured a 2 hr rain delay and an ultra fast surface and make it like every event is like that.

I'm talking about what I have seen from attending WoO races since 1983 when I saw my first Outlaw race ever, at Knoxville. Every few years (lately) I give them another shot, and each time I walk away with the same frustrations and feeling like I wasted my money. Also, if I looked hard enough, I'm sure I could find some good NASCAR races and post YouTube links, but that doesn't prove that their product on the track is anything less than total crap.

I actually paid to get into races for years. Started going when I was 5 years old, 43 now. Only been writing about it for about 12 years.

The point that I was making was that there is a luck factor of seeing a good show. I've seen plenty of local shows that were snoozers. I've seen WoO races that were snoozers. And of course, there is a better chance for a local show to be better, there aren't as many top-flight guys. A World of Outlaws A-Main is loaded with at least 10 of the top guys in the country. Depending on the area, it's a lot more.

Get off his dick. You're the biggest jerk on here - you go ballistic on everyone. Honestly I can't stand you ever since you lit in to John Westbrook's mom on here last year. You have zero class and everyone thinks of you as just another PA Posse blowhard. You're nothing and you know - just another internet tough guy.
