2015 Northwest Wingless Tour Season Begins This Saturday May 9th At CGS By Ben Deatherage
Cottage Grove, Oregon- The clay will fly this Saturday, May 9th, for the first time in 2015 for the Northwest Wingless Tour. The NWWT head to a place that is very familiar to the tour's history, Cottage Grove Speedway. CGS will host the series for Springfield Chamber Of Commerce/Pepsi Night. Pepsi Family Night means folks who purchase a Family Pass consisting of two adults and up to four youths) for $30.00 will receive complimentary small sodas courtesy of Pepsi. Expect to see several Winged 360 Sprint drivers take their wings off and run Non-Wing this weekend and take on the wingless veterans.
The NWWT enters the 2015 season with six different champions in the six years of their existence. Defending champion Brad Rhodes is determined to become the first multi-time champion for the Northwest Wingless Tour. But there will be a solid group of challengers to make sure that he does not hoist the crown on high a second time.
Twenty total NWWT sanctioned races have occurred at CGS since the series was formed in 2009. Kyle Miller has a firm grip of the win list with thirteen triumphs including last year's Herz Precision Parts Wingless Nationals. Kyler Barraza is the only other multi-race winner with two while Roger Crockett, Dale Smith, Kyle Mehner, Colin Baker, and Jesse Thistle have won once.
