BRADY SHORT FIRST AT THE ACTION TRACK

Terre Haute, IN - April 26, 2015 - Brady Short of Mitchell, IN, won
the Spring Fling for KISS and MSCS Sprint Cars at the Terre Haute
Action Track Sunday night. The event was the opening race for the
2015 King of Indiana Sprint Series and the Action Track. It was the
fourth race on this year’s schedule for the Hoosier Tire Midwest
Sprint Car Series.

Brady Short lead the last 19 laps of the 25 lap feature to take the
$2,500 top prize. The former KISS and MSCS Champion was driving the
Cam Pottorff owned Maxim sprint sponsored by Sipes Body and Glass,
Indiana Stoneworks, Simpson, and Bloomington Auto Colors. The racing
engine was built by SPEC. The win moves Short up to second on the
MSCS Drivers All Time Wins List.

Jerry Coons Jr. continued running in second place but did not have
the speed needed to overtake Short. Restarts gave him repeated
chances. Brady Short kept the lead and proved to be the master of
the long straightaway. Carson Short made significant gains and took
a restart three wide with just six laps remaining. No change! Kyle
Robbins rode the cushion to perfection to finish fourth behind Carson
Short. Robbins and Carson Short moved up 11 spots each on the field.
Mitch Wissmiller powered his way up to fifth.

Chris Babcock led the second five with a strong run culminating in a
sixth place finish. Max McGhee was seventh. McGhee was the Keizer
Aluminum Wheels Hard Charger of the Race in gaining 15 spots. Dickie
Gaines, Aric Gentry, and Ethan Barrow rounded out the top ten
runners. Rookie of the Year Points leader Brandon Morin finished
11th to collect the Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award for the race.

Brandon Mattox, Brady Short, and Jerry Coons Jr. won the three heat
races. All cars started the feature except Mattox who scratched for
the main event prior to the redraw.

The start of the feature was delayed to remove debris that had dropped
in the second turn. A red flag for Ted Hine’s accident on the initial
start was then followed by three caution periods in those first 6
laps. There was a red flag on lap 7 for a three car incident, and
another red flag after that restart when Shane Cockrum flipped. The
final yellow was on lap 18.

Defending KISS Champion Shane Cottle led the first six laps after
starting on the pole.
He was one of the drivers falling out as attrition took its’ affect.
Defending MSCS Champion Kyle Cummins retired early after having flipped in
the second heat race. Brent Beauchamp had worked his way up to fourth in
the feature before dropping out of the competition. Only eleven of the 23
starters managed to finish the race.

The next Midwest Sprint Car Series event will be held at Montpelier
Motor Speedway on Saturday night May 2nd. That race is scheduled on
a night between appearances for the KISS sprints at Gas City and
Kokomo Speedways. It should be a great weekend of non-wing sprint
car racing across the upper middle region of the Hoosier state.
Provided as news and information for MSCS.
