Great way to put an end to the California drought. Put a dirt track in every town and it's sure to rain every weekend.

Placerville is paying basically a Civil War purse. No one was going to Tulare anyway. Anyone around Placerville got an eye on the weather? Thinking of heading there.

Tulare isn't exactly right next door to Placerville. Antioch did it too tonight.

It is an interesting question. Cant remember who, GT, Petersen Media or someone else tweeted yesterday that since the Pville show was not a points race, it wasnt an issue. However, Pville did run its season opener 2 weeks ago when the Civil War series ran at Calistoga. Makes you wonder if there is a rift between PMG and other promoters, specifically Handy. I have seen other tweets and posts about $$$ involving the KWS and CW series and unhappy onwers. Stoga posted about there being a possibility of no car owners point fund in CW. If there's smoke, there's usually fire.
Antioch running a 360 show tonight isnt an issue since that track wont be hosting a CW race this year.

No car count at Tulare seems like a null argument considering there was 25 cars in Hanford last night, most of which planning on running tonight, as well as a handful of confirmed drivers who were at ocean planning on making the trip, plus a few other Civil War regulars who were running Tulare only.

it doesn't matter how close the tracks are.there has always been an agreement that when there is a civil war race scheduled at a track the other tracks that host a civil war race don't run winged 360's against it.
antioch doesn't host any civil war races so it doesn't fall into that catagory. besides antioch schedules on top of everyone anyway.

Let me know who the 360 sprint car champion is for Tulare and Calistoga and I will agree with you. Those tracks have no business scheduling Civil War races, yet PMG has no problem taking business away from other tracks who do?

I will take that as you have no intelligent response. Facts are tough to overcome, aren't they Buzzie?

No one is asking anyone to lose money. No one is asking any track to go completely dark. They can still run a program that doesnt include 360s. They do it for every other civil war week at every other track. If they arent going to honor the same as the other tracks maybe they dont need any civil war shows.

Using this logic, tracks like Chico and Stockton shouldnt schedule Civil War races either since they dont have a 360 champion?
As Petersen Media stated, Tulare was going to have a very good turnout of 360 teams this weekend, many being Central Valley teams. If cars are there to support it, why shouldnt Tulare be allowed to host a Civil War race? Its not like PAS who continues to schedule WoO races, yet having no cars in the region to help fill the field.
Until this season, i dont recall and CW supporting track schedule a 360 race against a CW show at another track. If PMG and Handy agreed to it in the winter workshop, then so be it. We all know only a handful of local racers from each track actually support the entire CW schedule, so the real impact is likely minimal at best. Id think any team who intends on running the Trophy Cup would like to get an opportunity to run there before the actual race, but that's just me.

To your first sentence, exactly. Civil War was for participating tracks only and that's the way it should be. Silver Dollar always had Civil War because it was a Padjen idea to begin with I think.
Tulare shouldn't have a Civil War race because of the first sentence.

As far as I am concerned, I have no problems when track schedule over each other. I will run my car where I want to and when, and I have specific goals in mind with each car. Maybe one car I will run for points, the other for the fun of it. I think the best promoter will always get the bulk of my entries. Competition is healthy for the sport when it comes to a promoter, it makes them work harder for their customer(car owners/racer). It makes them keep purses up, and makes them pay timely, or cars wont come back! I agree with Buzz, its really not complicated, and if a promoter can't make it with the number of available cars on any given weekend, he has major problems! The cars enterd is NOT what he need to be stressed about, Filling those stands are what most tracks should be focusing on. Remember, full stands, sell more shirts too!

Originally the civil war was for tracks running weekly 360's and chico. Promoters had a gentlemans agreement to go dark on 360's when they ran. when prentice took over he brought in stockton but agreed to only run non 360 tracks before march1 or after oct1. this year prentice scheduled whoever he wanted whenever he wanted, took away historical dates and added a pill pull fee. At the same time he controls the 410's, 360's and spec sprints leaving tracks that stay with civil war to use what as headliner for their shows, mini stocks? Prentice took a page out of the simpson promoting book and decided he knew more than the actual promoters who furnish his cars. your going to see more low numbers at civil war events as placerville and petaluma do their own thing and prentice can do the civil war with a handfull of cars ljke at calistoga....paul

civil war doesn't run every week, so it isn't like a different track track is having to go dark on 360's every week.
you think branching out to take the civil war to other tracks that don't get much 360 racing is bad?
there has always been nights when some tracks have gone dark because of civil war at another track. didn't the promotors agree to the civil war dates at their tracks? didn't they always have to run shows with other classes when they went dark on 360's in the past when the civil war was at another track? you mentioned prentice scheduled when ever he wanted. don't the promotors have to agree to have his races at their tracks at certain times?
is trying to give the civil war more exposure a bad thing?
