The PA guys and cars always seem to do well when they come over to Ohio for Sprint Speedweek.

I remember years ago that Bobby Allen, Dub May, Steve Smith, Kramer Williamson and Paul Pitzer were always winning races in Ohio.

Stevie Smith wins a bunch of All Star races in Ohio.

Why is this? (And if you are a PA Posse fan, please don't tell me how much better PA drivers are....The guys in Ohio are very good as well!)

Is it because the large tracks in PA force the competition there to have strong motors? Even without the big buck sponsors, they always seem to have stout motors. In Ohio, the tracks are generally smaller....more finesse...and less power doesn't hurt you as much.....at least that is my theory!

Does anyone have an idea about this?

Congrats to Ryan Smith. he's a good one!

Ryan Smith's driving style plays right into Attica racing. I believe Alan Krimes would do exceptionally well at Attica as well because of driving ability on . On the contraire, Adam Wilt went to Attica during Speedweek (granted he is of lesser status 'results-wise recently' than Alan or Ryan) and ran 5th in the B (granted once again, that is respectable seeing how difficult outsiders have done there). I would attribute that to Wilt's driving style as compared to Krimes' or Smith's. Maybe I'm crazy, but who knows... I love both PA and OH racing and I will spending my fair share in both of them during the summer.

I haven't been to Susquehanna, but I think that attica is a lot like Lincoln with shorter straights. I bet that the guys that do well there could run well at Attica.

Ryan has not been overly successful at Lincoln. Before his breakout win last October against the big boys, he has been flying under the radar - yet always smooth, smart and consistent - his first few years in a 410 in Posse land. It's safe to say he won't be overlooked anymore and rightfully so.

I would say that's fair. That's what I said the first time I went to Susky.

Maybe a little similar in shape. Attica is .3 miles (in the middle) and Susquehanna is .4 miles (in the middle).

Anthony I think you nailed it on Ryan Smith.Always like the way he drives. I know he got one third last year at lincon

and almost beat Don kreitz in the tusky 50 two years ago. Every year better and better, Plus how many people people in central pa have outlaw wins.. it is tough to win those shows.

Yep.. not the size of it but the way you drive it and how it finishes. Kreitz, Stevie, and Hodnett won alot of races at Susky over the years. If I only had $25k in the mattress to put up for a couple big races to draw the PA boys over to Attica and vise versa..... now that would be a race weekend. Attica Friday, Susky Sunday, and someplace in between Saturday.

Hey, wait...maybe I'm onto something!!  Let's find a sponsor and make that happen.

New thread!!!!!!!
