Doug and Justin Clark Official Flagmen for National Sprint League!
Windom, MN (February 4, 2015) – Father/son team Doug and Justin Clark have been named the official flagmen for the National Sprint League in 2015. The South Dakota natives will be flagging the majority of races on the NSL schedule.
A boyhood friend of Doug Wolfgang, Doug Clark went from working on cars to flagging in 1979 at the Hartford Speedway in South Dakota. He has flagged for over thirty years at the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa and at Huset’s Speedway in South Dakota. He has worked a number of prestigious events including the King’s Royal at Eldora Speedway in Ohio and The World Finals at the Dirt Track in Charlotte, North Carolina.
After a brief racing career, Justin joined his father on the flag stand. For over ten seasons, he has assisted Doug at Knoxville with the 410’s, and is now the head flagman for both the 360 and 305 classes at Knoxville.
“It’s really important for us to have experience, credibility and fairness with the officials and people involved in the series,” says NSL founder Tod Quiring. “Having Doug and Justin Clark on the flag stand gives us those things. They will be doing our flagging this year at most of our venues, and we’re proud to have them on board.”

Tod continues to impress with the work being put into this upstart series. Sponsors that are coming on board and the people working for him makes it look like he is in it for the long haul.

Agree. A top notch team, professionally executing the startup of this new series.
Sponsors, tracks, and great roster of teams/drivers all on-board. Now we fans need to do our part attending and bringing some new fans along as guests when we do.
Looking forward to summer in the mid-west!!!

Man, if the NSL gets any better Pennsylvania may even lose it's status as the promised land.

Diversity at its worst. How about ability. Hundreds of flagmen as good as anyone else in this country but again, seems like this series is getting into the"diversity" game, much like Napscar and its "diversity" program. We're not stupid or ignorant. Call it like it is. Sure does fill the stands with minority fans. Now that's a good one.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

I'm as sick as anyone of professional sports going way overboard with the diversity thing. In my mind, I don't care what the color of someone's skin is. I think in 2015, regardless of what the race baiters try to convince us, with the exception of a few dark corners of the world where interfamily breeding still occurs, we live in a society where if you have what it takes and the drive to work at it, you can succeed in whatever your chosen profession is no matter what your ethnic background is. After all, we do have a black president. I have several black friends and they all feel the same way and are as sick of it as anyone else. But this is not in that same category at all. You're a moron if you don't know that Doug Clark has been one of the best and most respected flagman in all of sprint car racing for several decades now. How many flagmen have become a household name among the sprint car community? There aren't too damn many. In fact, most people probably don't even know the flagman's name who works at their home track. There's reason why Doug Clark is a name most of us know and it doesn't have a damn thing to do with the color of his skin. It's because he's awesome at what he does and he's been awesome at it for a very long time. If you think otherwise, you're and idiot.

The best flagmen I ever saw and this is before flagmen had a half dozen or more people telling him what to do or what was happening all over the track was Dave Hammer (think that was his name) in Minot,ND. He was severe with drivers who didn't mind their peas and Qs but was having a beer with them after the races. Give him the finger and you're in the pits. Also, the flagmen at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks,ND are as good as they get, as are their rescue crews. I'd say its much easier to be a flagmen today what with the before mentioned headphones that workers wear in the corners and in the booth and wherever else, its like there are 4 or 5 flagmen.
As Hewitt said in a video that used to be on here but can't find it as it was very vulgar "that stupid ass flagmen, all he needs are two eyes and two ears, how hard can that be". That wasn't the vulgar part. Most vulgar race video I've ever seen. He has a couple other vulgar ones still on youtube that would raise your eyebrows.
I wasn't too political correct was I?? COME ON MAY AND THE SMELL OF RACE CARS.

Agreed, Doug & Justin are the Best in the Business... I think Justin even has 1 or 2 Little ones in training. Keep the Legacy alive. Knoxville & the Midwest is Lucky to have them.
Didn't Doug turn them loose at the Indy 500 or Daytona 500 a few years back?

This series keeps getting sponsors and racers might get bigger than the outlaws.
