What a Mess

Heartland Park Topeka

Topeka city council wants to buy out Ray Irwin because he can't pay his bills, but A guy started a petition to have the entire city vote on if the city should buy Ray Irwin out It is all tied up in the courts right now and there is not supposed to be a decision until  Feb 28th plus a Kansas Legislator Anthony Hensley wants to Audit the whole thing.

Then you have this

Lakeside Speedway

I was wondering why Lakeside had not put out a schedule yet.   I guess this would explain it.   It has been a tough couple of years for Lakeside.   When I first came to KC, it was a can't miss race night.   However, with the new ownership, the track has lost a lot of its excitment.   Between how they started preparing the track and the new line up procedures, I found myself doing more and more different things on Friday night.

What makes no sense at all is that the Lakeside owner already has a Saturday night track (I-35).   How would he operate two tracks on the same night?

Lakeside Speedway runs Friday nights.  Ever since Marc Olsen sold the track the weekly program has been in steady decline.  Three sprint shows this year is good though.

Looks Like all sides on the Heartland park debate want to move the hearing up. As far as Lakeside owner Mike Johnson could he possibly run HPT on Sunday they have ran on that day in the past. I just don't know if he has the type of time needed for HPT cause your talking about the drag strip and road course, not just the dirt track and he would be running those three things plus Lakeside and I 35.
