So it's possible I could find this if I dug deeper or if I just e-mailed, which I might do if I don't find the answer here. But what does a membership to the NSL mean? I saw that you had to attend a certain % of the races to claim the top 15 point fund and that you had to be a member to eligible for side awards such as hard charger and hard luck.
Question 1: How many races does one have to attend with membership to be eligible for side awards?
I understand that the membership gives you pit pass discounts as well. Membership will be going up after the 16th. Will memberships be eligible to purchase after the first race? There are 26 drivers signed up with names and cars from the area still missing. If you only planned on going to the Knoxville races I think the membership would be worth it considering the savings in pit cost and the eligibility for prizes.
Question 2: Should race fans expect to see all 26 (and growing) NSL member drivers to be at each race? or are these just drivers with plans on going to as many races as possible it just makes fiscal sense to become a "member"?

2 great questions!!! I know with the membership you can also sell merchendise out of there trailer as well I'm bit sure what the membership means really!! I don't think that you will see them drivers at all of the races I think you will see about 15 of them there every night but will see all 26 at most except maybe the Wisconsin races and a few others

Thanks for the link, but it was information Ineas already aware of, my questions are not about the point fund. That release does not specify about the contingency award eligibility, just that they announced them.

cjalger,
An NSL membership will get you the following:
* Eligibility for all of the nightly and yearly contingency awards.
* Discounts on certain products and services from multiple contingency product sponsors.
*Eligibility for the nightly tow money. ($300 per night - on a (2) day show at the same track it pays $300 first night $150 the second night - must be in the top (15) in points for tow money)
* Additional insurance.
* (4) membership cards for pit pass discounts.
* Eligibilty to sell teams t-shirts, caps, jackets, etc. at the Official NSL trailer.
* Eligibility for our $350,000 end of year point fund. (You can miss up to (5) races and still be eligible.)
* And the most important thing of all, you get to be a part of the most exciting thing that has happened to sprint car racing in the Midwest in a long time. (Shameless plug...LOL)
Hope this answers your questions and please check out our website for all the details and our complete 2015 schedule and hope to see everybody at our races thru out the summer...cz

under those terms you would think that any driver planning on going to 1 NSL event would buy a membership at the discounted price then

I think both the NSL and Renegades have done a great job of making sure information is readily available and accessible, even to the point of having replies on a forum within 30 minutes.
Really pumped for this thing to take off and I can't wait to catch them at local tracks. Just wish they were going to Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA as it's an awesome 410 track but if I had to guess, the promoter was probably the one behind them not coming.

I had some similar questions as the original poster and from my understanding after reading the thread is, the membership essentially makes you eligible to receive tow money (which in turn suggests you run a majority of the events to remain in the top 15 in points) and the hefty end of season point fund (allowing you to miss 5 races) and allows you to receive the perks such as merchandise sales, insurance, discounts, etc.
All I'm going to say is wow. The NSL seems to have their act together and in my opinion is poised for success. Thanks to all involved and I'll support this series anytime I am in the midwest area.

Let me know where the renegade info is as I have not seen anything on point fund, insurance, tow money (can you miss any races), memberships, etc.

Another great supporting input to this season and the NSL is fuel prices for tow costs if these prices hold.
