"SILVER" LINING FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

USAC's 2015 Silver Crown Championship Series kicks off May 1 with the Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness "Rollie Beale Classic" as the series returns to the half-mile paved Toledo (Ohio) Speedway with an event supported by long-time and Indianapolis 500 winning car owner Ron Hemelgarn.

The 11-race slate winds from Ohio to Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Kansas before heading back east through Ohio and into New York for the finale at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

All six 2014 race winners will return, including five-time race winner and champion Kody Swanson, his brother Tanner, Bobby Santos, David Byrne, Shane Cockrum and Jerry Coons Jr.

One interesting change will find Coons piloting the famed #20 entry for long-time car owner Gene Nolen, while the #98 RPM/Fred Gormly machine will be driven in 2015 by former series champion Tracy Hines.

Former series champion Levi Jones also looks forward to competing in the Midwest mile dirt events.

"Most Improved" USAC driver Shane Cockrum, who scored a resounding 2014 hometown victory at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, will throw his hat in the ring for the title as he plans to compete in all of the scheduled races.

Other driver involvement in 2015 will include a new dirt car for David Byrne, who became the series' 100th different winner last year at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Ind. This will allow him to pursue the series championship as he competes in all 11 events.

AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Champ Brady Bacon, plus Sprint car regulars Justin Grant, C.J. Leary and Shane Cottle are also expected to be frequent competitors in 2015.

"I'm truly excited about the recent growth of the series," says coordinator Andy Hillenburg. "Toledo and Iowa are the start of series expansion and I expect more as the series continues to enjoy its enthusiasm."

In addition to Toledo, Iowa Speedway in Newton returns to the fold with an event on the 7/8-mile paved oval on June 20. Hillenburg adds that additional venues are on the radar for races in 2016 as the series continues expansion.

Hillenburg relates that he has talked to several prospective new teams which are expected to swell the car counts in the coming year.

Among the returning teams could be one led by long-time crew chief Bob Galas, who spearheaded the late Gary Bettenhausen's Silver Crown success and managed cars for numerous other top drivers, plus another fielded by long-time car owner Ray Kurtz, who supplied multiple winning entries for driver Chuck Gurney.

2015 USAC SouthWest Sprint Car Schedule

Twenty four racing events are scheduled for the upcoming 2015 season at Marysville Raceway The New Action Track. In combination with new promoter Dennis Gage and help from Cycleland Speedway Owner and Promoter Lowell Moural Sr., the quarter-mile oval dirt track will be reconfigured for the upcoming season. Teams and fans are encouraged to attend the January 1st play date to see the new changes. “We are about half way there to completing our vision with the track,” said Gage. “It's a gradual process that takes time when moving dirt and re-configuring the shape of a track.”

The first race of the season should be a great one with the Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial on February 28th. The race will feature an early chance for teams and fans to see winged 360 sprint cars, wingless sprints and sport mods.

The next race is billed as the Spring Gold Cup Fever Sprint Car Open on Saturday night March 14th and features 360 winged sprint cars, wingless sprints, economy sprints and pro 4's.

Six nights later, a rare Friday night race is scheduled on March 20th for the traveling California Sprint Car Civil War Series. The accompanying division on that night will be the limited late models. The Civil War Series will return on May 23rd.

The first weekly Saturday point show will take place on April 4th. In all, a total of 16 point shows are scheduled. An onslaught of winged 360 sprints, super stocks, mini stocks, hobby stocks, wingless sprints, Pro 4's and sport modifieds will get the majority of the point shows. Traveling divisions that will visit the Raceway throughout the year includes the 410 winged sprint cars, midgets, street stocks, dwarf cars, midget lites and economy winged sprints.
The excitement of 410 winged sprint car racing returns to Marysville Raceway with three individual nights. These special high paying, non-point shows will take place on April 25th, May 30th and June 20th. The 410's will take the place of the missing winged 360's on those nights due to the agreement with Civil War Series. “We think the 410 winged sprint cars are a nice compliment with the regularly schedule point divisions on those nights,” said Gage.

The traditional Dwarf Car Nationals will take place September 25th and 26th.

Two big individual weekends of racing close out the season in October. On October 17th the Gold Fever Taxi Cab Open will feature Limited Late Models, super stocks, hobby stocks, mini stocks, and street stocks.
The following Saturday night, October 24th, the Fall Gold Cup Fever will end the year and feature winged 360's, wingless sprints, economy sprints and Pro 4's.

2015 Silver Dollar Speedway Race Schedule

The Silver Dollar Speedway is pleased to release a diverse schedule for the 2015 race season filled with a wide variety of motor sports entertainment. The Speedway will host 30 events throughout the upcoming season. As usual, the 410 winged sprint cars will be the staple of the speedway with 18 scheduled nights of racing between the World of Outlaws, King of the West sprint cars and the weekly Friday night point shows. “We wanted to continue and showcase our 410 winged sprint cars,” said promoter Dennis Gage. “We have a solid local supporting cast of 410 teams and it has been a long standing tradition to have Chico run the 410 winged sprint cars during the majority of the season.”

Cars will hit the track on February 20th for an early season night time practice from 6 pm to 10 pm. Two other practices will take place on March 1st and March 13th. All divisions are welcomed.

The first weekend of racing is scheduled on March 6th and 7th with the annual running of the Silver Cup. The event will feature the winged 360 sprint cars, wingless sprints and modifieds.

The first of 15 Friday night point shows begins on March 27th. Two of the Friday night highlights will once again be the Bill Brownell Memorial held this year on April 24th and the Wolf Memorial. This year the 410 winged sprint car main event will feature 33 laps and $3300 to win in tribute to Brownell's racing number. On August 28th , the final point race of the year will once again pay tribute to Tyler Wolf. The Wolf Memorial will offer extra money incentives for the winged 410 sprint cars.

The World of Outlaws will invade the Speedway three times this year. The first night is scheduled for March 28th with the annual running of the Mini Gold Cup. The Outlaws return in September for the 62nd Anniversary of the Gold Cup Race of Champions. The Outlaws will race on September 11 and 12.

The traveling King of the West Sprint Car Series will make two appearances this year. The first race is the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial on May 2nd . The Series will return on June 6th and pay tribute to David Tarter once again.

The California Civil War Series will also make two trips to the Speedway. The first visit is on a Sunday night, May 24th, as part of the Silver Dollar Fair. The series returns on September 9th , Wednesday, and kicks off the four nights of racing during the Gold Cup.

Winged 360 sprint cars will make eight appearances this year at Chico. Two nights at Silver Cup, two Civil War events, two Friday night shows and two nights during the end of the year Fall Nationals Tribute to Stephen Allard on October 2nd and 3rd.
The dirt modifieds, street stocks, wingless sprints, hobby stocks, limited late models and economy winged sprints will continue to be a big part of the Speedway in 2015. Each division will hit the track at least eight times throughout the year.

The Speedway will host four events during the Silver Dollar Fair. On May 22nd the traditional Arena/Super Cross kicks off things. Saturday night, May 23rd the 200-lap Enduro race continues to be an annual event. The Civil War Sprint Cars are scheduled on Sunday night. Monday, May 25th the third annual Destruction Derby takes place.

USAC's HONDA NATIONAL MIDGET SERIES EXPANDS TO PENNSYLVANIA IN 2015

In 2015 the Honda National Midget Championship trail will include all of the major outdoor Midget events in the country, starting with the Kokomo Grand Prix in April and running through the famed Turkey Night Grand Prix on Thanksgiving Night in Perris, CA.

Rico Abreu is the defending champion of the series, while teammate Christopher Bell (the 2013 champion) is expected to be among primary challengers for the 2015 crown, along with Tracy Hines, who will continue his pursuit of the elusive USAC Triple Crown. Hines needs olny a National Midget title to accompany his previous championships in the AMSOIL National Sprint Cars and the Silver Crown Championship series to become USAC's sixth Triple Crown king.

The extremely popular Indiana Midget Week returns with five consecutive nights of racing June 10-14, while traditions like the Belleville Midget Nationals in Kansas, the "Gold Crown Midget Nationals"at Granite City, Ill. and the Four Crown Nationals"at Rossburg, Ohio all continue in 2015.

New to the calendar are back-to-back races May 29 and 30 at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway) a weekend of special racing in June that will be announced in the coming days.

The "Chad McDaniel Memorial"is slated July 28 at Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, Kans. in advance of the Belleville, Kansas spectacular which features not only the Midgets July 30 and August 1 but also the USAC Silver Crown return to the High Banks.

Eastern race fans will delight in the three-race Pennsylvania slate August 18-19-20 involving Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run, Lincoln Speedway in New Oxford and Susquehanna Speedway Park in Newberrytown. The co-sanctioned ARDC events mark the first time USAC's National Midgets have competed on Pennsylvania dirt in 26 years!
