To all the Canadian Sprint Car fans and World of Outlaw Fans: I want to apologize for the post race comments at Edmonton, Canada on Sunday night.
I want all to know that what I said was taken out of context and by no means did I intend to offend anyone. I know most people would have taken what I said in a very negative way and that was not my intention.
I have no negative feelings of racing in Canada or of the fans who had been very supportive over the several days that we were there.
What I really meant was that I was just glad that we finally got the race in after the rain delays because I was told that if the rain kept falling that there was a possibility that we would have to stay to race up through Wednesday and that was not what our Team or any other team I'm sure wanted to do knowing that we had a 16 hour drive ahead of us to get to Washington to race on Friday.
My Team had been working hard and driving a lot of miles for several weeks and they were looking forward to some much deserved time off to visit with friends and family in Washington. The longer we were delayed in Canada the less time they had for this. Therefore, we were just ready to get on the road and get there as soon as possible.
I can't take back what I said, but I will remember in the future to think about how I say things and to do a better job of expressing how I really feel.
Again, I apologize to all who took offense to my comments, to my fans and Kasey Kahne Racing.
Sincerely,
Joey Saldana
