_Final Point Race of the Season at Silver Dollar Speedway_

This Friday night, August 24 will mark the final Feather Falls Casino
Championship Point race of the year. Tonight will also serve as Fan
Appreciation Night at the Speedway. Grandstand adult admission is only
$5.00. Also, the first 150 adult fans through the front gate will
receive a free hat courtesy of Napa Auto Parts in Orland. Mike and
Carol
of Cherry St. Mini Storage have stepped up once again and will help
sponsor the night. With their added money the 410 winged sprint car
main
event will pay $2500 to win. This marks the biggest Friday night main
event payday of the year. The six foot Coca-Cola trophy's will also be
on the line to each main event winner.

Front gate will open at 5 pm. Sprint car qualifying is slated to start
at 7 pm. Grandstand admission in $5.00. Children are $4.00. Three
divisions will race during point race number 21. The 410 winged sprint
cars, dirt modifieds and wingless sprints all are geared up for their
final race. Two of the three divisions will crown a champion. The
wingless sprints still have one race to go on September 5^th .

Chico's Stephen Allard all but has wrapped up his second championship
at
the speedway. He leads Oroville's Sean Becker and Placerville's Andy
Gregg by over 40-points going into the final night. It has been a solid

year for Allard, who's last championship ended in a tie with Shane
Scott
in 1997. Allard himself has credited his work out schedule of late.
“I've been hitting the gym real hard lately and concentrating on my
obliques,” said Allard on his cell phone from the gym. “Fans don't
realize how fit you have to be to drive a race car.” In between the
gym
Allard and his crew have found the right combination to propel him into

the lead. Oroville's Sean Becker has persevered this season through a
lot of mad luck. It has been a testament to Becker's great car owners
Tom Fisher and Kyle Main, who have kept the car on the track all
season.
The team also is the only car to attend every Golden State King of
California
event and not miss a Friday night point show.

Andy Gregg has been the best rookie this season. Gregg lives in
Placerville and is third in points in his first full-time season at
Chico. He has balanced his racing and personal life quite well this
year. Gregg and his family have invested in a mini petting zoo in the
Placerville area. Chico's Brett Miller and Korey Lovell round out the
top five and both look to move around Jonathan Allard who sits in
fourth
but is not expected to race. Defending Coca Cola winner Andy Forsberg
will return to try and defend his title. Also, we have been told Tim
Kaeding is expected to run for the trophy. This came from car owner Tom

Rolfe before the team headed to the Knoxville Nationals.

Richard Papenhausen has the championship locked up. Now he wants the
Coca Cola trophy. Last year Duane Cleveland won the trophy but
Papenhausen wants it back in Chico at his shop. Contesting Papenhausen
should be the regular players in Mike Sohnrey, Darin Ruley and Mark
Abouzeid. With the final night of racing at Chico approaching we are
expecting a big car count for the final night of racing.

The wingless sprints still have two nights of championship point racing

at Chico but prestige and the six foot trophy are on the line Friday
night. The division continues to be led by rookie driver Brandon Davis
of Rohnert Park. Davis has been the picture of consistency this season.

Last year Dan Simpson won the main event and lately Adam Kaeding has
been driving his car. Look for Taylor Simas, Matt Streeter or RC Smith
to try and steal the win away from Davis. A huge car count is expected.

Napa Auto Parts and Cherry St. Mini Storage night along with Coca Cola
will help bring an exciting end to the 2007 point chase at Chico this
Friday night. Napa Auto Parts of Orland always brings some great
give-aways for the fans.
