I tend to agree with this poster. After watching most races at the Grove the last 3 years its apparent the track is living on its long and storied history. If anyone would try to run Friday nights against the Grove ,the best chance would be Port Royal. Port is a horsepower track, and many Grove regulars also run the Port. But to be succesfull you better be prepared to put up money. Williams Grove has the highest payout of what I would call the big three--Williams Grove, Port Royal and Lincoln. With the announcment that Susquehanna is running a sprint show every month, and a possible return to weekly sprint racing , that could be another possability. I feel that Fridays are not just for the Grove anymore.

Many of the grove regulars do not run port royal. Hodnett and Esh are the only two port and grove regulars.  DD, Marks, Smith, run where they feel like, Kreitz only races grove, haas, monteith, McIntyre, Wilson run lincoln  I think things are fine the way they are.  Don't make drivers choose between two horse power tracks.

Well, Susquehanna needs to do A LOT of improvements before they could go up against Williams Grove & be successful.  The entire grandstand is UNSAFE and needs to be replaced.  The bathrooms need to be updated and most of all the personalities of the owners needs to UPGRADED.  The last few times I have been there someone has fallen through the stands because the board they were standing on broke.

Rick Lafferty, Davey Sammon, Lance Deweese , Ryan Smith are some more.  Marks has more or less skipped Lincoln unless it is a big money race. The question is why should the drivers have a track that by many opinions ( including drivers ) is basically wore out? They should have the best surface that can be prepared to run on, seems Port has done a fair job of that.

I agree. At Susky  the BYOB  stands for" Bring Your Own Board "  I didnt think of them running against the Grove but maybe a third night of the week, which in my opinion is to much.  Track surface, restrooms, bleachers, owners all need improvement, but it does provide some good racing.

Why create more competition when all the tracks are worried about $$? WG just needs to improve

Don't  create  more   competition  , but  all  tracks  need   to update  or renovate , track surface , restrooms, paint  the
facility , clean  the place  , create  better  racing  for  FANS  . It  seems like  fans  have  been forgotten except   for  admission   at the  gates.

I think the racing at the end of the year was pretty decent.  Even throughout the year it was good at Williams Grove.  Yes, many front row winners but that is everywhere.  If you watched the racing throughout the field it was pretty good.  I mean Krimes came from 26 to 10 at the Natty Open.  And lafferty doesn't run grove regularly, he skipped the last few weeks and many races during the year, and Lance Dewease jumps around.  He was going to go to Lincoln saturday then went to port to get ready for the 25.

I never saw you volunteer any of your time to help do what you say. I know Port will accept any voluteer help and I'm sure other tracks would too. It doesn't take much effort to type thoughts on message boards though. Maybe you should just stick to that. Or my idea is to just quit your constant complaining.

Tenter - I would be happy if he just fixed his spacing issues on his posts.  If he can't get that right, I doubt he will be much help at the track.
