Super Chuck was really impressed with the love the PA fans showed Diamond Dave Gravel and the Roth Motorsports Team last weekend at the Grove. From the time he passed Stevie in turn one, the fans stood up and pointed to show their support. A chorus of "moooooo" could be heard from Beer Hill from the time the checkers fell, all the way through the victory lane speech. Man, it was loud too. "Mooooooo, moooooooo, mooooooooo!!!!"
Super Chuck was glad to see and hear the fans supporting the former Beefpackers/HR Cattle ride with such a fitting cheer. What a great gesture for a ride all the way from Cali.
Super Chuck

Agreed Gravel drove his ass off and had the better car, Smith was blocking Gravel and by all means he should have been but Gravel needed to make a move and he did. I dont believe he purposely spun Smith out i think it was more of a bump and run attempt. Gravel earned the win enough said.

No "smart" sprint car driver tries to spin someone out when you are battling for the lead in one of the biggest races of the year. I have seen the video and I am not sure how you could look at it as he did it on purpose. He followed him down the straightaway, waiting to see what he was going to do, Stevie dove for the bottom, Gravel quickly went to the top and just barley clipped him.

Well deserved moo's I would say. Whether you had the best car or did it on purpose or not, even being blocked, that's just not an impressive way to win a race. He knows it, took full credit and knew the moo's were coming and deserving. It wasn't on purpose and he owned it like a man and I truly believe his apaology was sincere. Shit happens, onto the next one.

They said he ran out of talent. Damn if he didn't have enough talent to spin Stevie ever so slightly.
I'm a big Smith fan by the way.

If the tables were turned, Stevie spinning out Gravel, there would be NO complaining from the PA crowd. Amazing how soon they forget how Fred Rahmer raced for years.

Same stuff different thread, Smith and Posse fans on on side Gravel, Outlaw and anti Posse fans on the other. Now if we can just start to discuus poster's sex lives maybe this one will go longer than the thread.

David is a talented kid and if an invader had to win the open im glad it was him.
But , its pretty disapointing seeing a race end like that , on purpose or not. For that he should have earned SOME mooos.

For some reason this picture just says Chick-Fil-A commercial all over it.
Can't wait to yell "Moooooove over for the 83" next week in Tulare for all three Roth cars!

Wish them Posse boys the best. But from what I read on here is the only time they win anymore is when there are no invaders in town. Get um David. Take there money again and again.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Racing deal, had it gone the other way you wouldn't have heard the boos. That all said, I'm not sure I understand the "Gravel was faster" thought on here. #83 started on the pole, #51 started 6th. #51 passed the #83 on the track, while the #83 car had clear track ahead. Stevie ran the same line for about 30 straight laps, sprint cars don't have mirrors. Gravel was getting a run down the straightaways on Stevie every lap, but losing through the center and off just enough that the #51 would clear him each time. That lap Gravel tried to stay a little closer, drive a little deeper into 1 so he could try to clear the #51 off on the exit and he just caught the back of the car. In his own words, "I was racing for an inch". Sounds pretty accurate. Stevie didn't do anything differently that lap than he had for most of the race before it. My guess is if he gets to the back of the #83 again, he might not be as patient before he pulls the trigger on a slider like the one he used to take the lead a few laps before the incident. WoO drivers have won 4 of 7 this year with 2 drivers, PA drivers have won 3 with 3 drivers. Pretty even really. From Oklahoma? Just like Paul Mcmahan is from Tennessee and Kasey Kahne is from North Carolina? Stevie is from PA, lives in OK when he's not racing and living in PA. I'd argue Hodnett has less ties to PA then Smith, and he's lived and raced here for 15 years. Same argument as always, common sense is the solution...

The funny thing about most of these threads involving the Pa. guys is how worked up the rest of the country gets over a few Pa. fans who are just jerking their chain. Most of them are started by non Pa. people then someone jerks their chain a little and off we go. I do realize some are started by a guy who has been run off the Grove board. By the how many know that this incident has not even generated a thread on that board because there is no one to argue the point with.

This is winged racing, You gotta keep your foot on the floor, Expecialy if your going to go outside. Smith lifted a bit, Grave tapped him, Total racing deal.
It wasn't as if Smith wasn't blocking a few times before that. Looked like Dollansky driving by the rear view mirror.
