Instead of listening to morons defending the mixing of drugs and racing lets actually talk about racing.

The season is winding down here in Southern Iowa and its ashame. Seeing Chili Bowl ticket postings make me think of snow and I'd rather not. So what upcoming must see races are out there yet this year? For me the only feesible races may be the Invaders at 34 this Saturday and possibly the STN. Don't mind traveling to a race but I have to find the time. Any races on your list or races I should try to add to mine?

This will also be my first year going to Trophy Cup. Also I'm looking forward to Chico this weekend for their Fall Nationals.

Sounds like I need to find a way to get my work to send me to California for a week. Looked up some videos on that track. Looks like a blast with some solid entries already lined up. Idk if they can top last years finish or not but that sure looks like a race I need to attend if not this year then sometime in the near future.

Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam never disappoints (They run Luxemburg the night before, but that would be another 2 hours added on). But Dodge County on Saturday should be a good one. Ian Madsen and McCarl have already commited to taking in these two shows as well. If you want to get one more fast half mile in before the snow flakes fly (and not have to drive a crazy amount of time), swing on up and take in this one!

There's a $1000 to win two day non-wing show coming up on October 10-11 at I-35 Speedway by Winston, MO. I'm hoping it will have a good car count and good crowd because that's the closest race track to me, but all they run is door bangers on their weekly show. That might not be too far of a drive for you depending on where you live in Iowa.

If you like open wheel action the place to be on Saturday October 18th is English Creek Speedway for the Knoxville Micro Short Track Nationals. Believe me you will not be disappointed. The winner will take home $2000.00.

Visit their website www.englishcreekspeedway.com for more information

WI and MO are realistic drives for sure. I went to couple  Micro races this year as well around the state. Some good action in the heats but the mains were run aways. Thats not to say they cant be good racing but one guy had the field completely outclassed by leaps and bounds. I'll put English Creek on the radar if we have good weather that weekend it could be a good show. How many classes/cars should be there? Nights going much later than midnight to one oclock definately excite the wife less. Still gotta make church in the morning Smile

The micro race at English Creek last year was great.  40-50 cars, no support class.  Got over in good time.  I'm thinking 10:30 or before.  Great track for the micros, short enough that the leaders are in lap traffic in just a few laps.  Great race, cheap gate price, overall good time.

If you decide to head up for Dodge County, make sure you get into the stands at a decent time. Usually pretty packed (part of the issue I think WoO would have if they ever ran there). But I think WoO would put on a barn burner show there (Better than Beaver Dam Raceway in my opinion).

Trophy Cup is is right at the top of my bucket list. Won't be able to make that one this year, but will be at Western World again. Man was Western World FANTASTIC last year. If its anything like it was last year, its a MUST SEE
