Half the posts on the Norcal board are USAC flak. C'mon Don the fifties are over. The only competative nonwing series is W/C USAC. USAC/CRA is now the Demon show. USAC Tulare is fan friendly, no thugs rifling thru your gear forcing you to buy over priced grub. Steve Faria always has a hello for you. Might have to book a motel for all of October.
Good news is Vanderweerd is promoter at Hanford. Hope to see Cotton go back to Hanford and some W/C USAC shows there. Between Hanford, Tulare and Ventura I can avoid going to the Stalag on the Ramona at all. Hope to also get up to Watsonville and Placerville a time or two. Those Civil War shoes put on a hellova show.

Have to agree with DM that CenCal is where it's at these days, even if the car counts aren't quite what they are at Perris right now. It's actually easier, (far) less expensive, more pleasant, and faster to get from the Five Cities to Watsonville, Chow, Hanford, Tulare, Beefield and Ventura than it was to get from Rancho Park to Perris. Don & Kim are doing a nice job at Perris given the situation they have to work with in several areas. But it's so pick-yer-pocket SoCal, in no small part owing to the fair board as well as customer expectations in the vicinity of La. The place is plush, and the bathrooms are fabulous, but it feels nothing whatsoever like Ascot or Manzanita, where the "golden age" was still in the zeitgeist. (If you want the feel of Faulkner, Ward, McGrath and Vukie, ya gotta get in the =fields=.) And, yeah, we've actually had a dozen different feature winners in this series including Dave Darland with four wins, and Ryan Bernal with five.

Unfortunately, no CRA races to talk about till the November
I would venture to guess, if CRA fans attended the cotton classic or Trophy Cup at Tulare, they would have a good time
