I said he doesn't do anything but go backwards before on here and got ripped a new one because everybody thought he was the next big thing.  He hasn't done well here in central pa at all this year, which is kind of surprising given his performance at the natty open last year.  Did not know he tried running a 350 block with the 305s

We're so over rated yet, I see him battling the lowest of low budget teams in heat races and features.  As far as I'm concerned he can stay in NY, we don't need him.

Barger got suspended by the ESS a couple years ago for hitting a track official with his car because he didn't like the fact that a bunch of caution laps ran him out of fuel.

An Exciting Night of Racing at OCFS – 5/4/13

posted by MikeVanDusen on 05/05/13

Another sunny day brought out lots of cars as 34 CRSA Racesaver Sprint Cars joined the full fields of Mods, Sportsman and Prostocks at the Orange County Fair Speedway. Sprint cars from NY, NJ, Pa, and Conn. made the tow and were treated to a fast racing surface. 360 sprint standout, Justin Barger, borrowed a 305 engine and turned fast time of the day with a 19.505 which is an average speed of over 115 mph!

The 20 lap A-Main started off with a "four wide' salute to the fans and then was brought to the green flag by pole sitter, Art Kiser(29), and Tyler Chartrand(12t) on the outside. Chartrand got the early lead and looked to be pulling away until a caution on lap three put the #37 of 358 sprint racer, Scott Flammer, on his rear bumper. Flammer is no stranger to OCFS as he was a regular Mod racer here in the past. Flammer used the high side to claim the lead on the restart and Josh Pieniazek(3p) made a nice move to third from his sixth starting spot followed by.Kiser and NJ's, Ed Newhauser in fifth. All eyes where on Barger(5) who was trying to come from his eleventh starting position but it was eight place starter, John Matrafailo(17), that was on the move. John cracked the top five on lap five and took away third from Pieniazek on lap 11. Flammer continued to pace the field with Chartrand running a strong second and Barger still out of the top five.Lap sixteen saw the #5 slip past the #29 and set his sights on the 3p.With two laps to go, 37, 12t, 17, 3p, 5, 29, 4, 24 of Chad King, 30 of Scott Goodrich, an the 19x of Keith Mcintyre were running in the top ten. The caution flew closing the field for a two lap shootout. After the restart, things got exciting as the 17 shot into the runner up spot behind the 37 and the 5 car took away the fourth position from the 3p. With the white flag waving, it was the 37, 17 and the 5 nose to tail. Down the back stretch in tight draft, the stage was set for a wild finish. Flammer held his groove going into three. Matrafailo looked to the inside with Barger challenging on the high side. Flammer brought his #37 to the checkers with Johnny Mat and Barger side by side at the stripe. Barger inched past the #17 for second, the12t had a strong fourth and the 3p came home fifth. 29, 4, 24,30, and 19x rounded out the top ten.

For someone who sucks so bad he certainly had no trouble beating the Posse best at Susky back in June. Hmmmmm. Wait, I guess that was luck huh.  That is all.

He also had no trouble sitting the pole of the Summer Nationals against the World of Outlaws this year, making the dash both nights at the National Open last year and winning 2 heat races against the Outlaws this year.

Couldn't tell ya about what most drivers think of him, but I can tell you he is well-liked in the stands and he and his wife consider themselves locals, which is great. I respect the team for coming from New York each and every week.

My bad, I guess he ran a 305 race once. It says he finished 2nd but no mention of getting DQ'd for a 350 block, hmmm. LOL I think he's a decent driver and I'm glad to have him racing 410's in PA.

Same.  I really don't understand why anybody would complain about anyone who adds to the car count locally (unless it's a total disaster who gets in everyone's way and is a danger to others, like Jim Shuster or Buzz Wilson).

He is a nice guy in the pits, signs autographs for the kids etc. I've always heard a lot of cheering for him in the stands as well.
