Congratulations to Isaac Schreurs on winning his first career sprint car race last night with the ASCS Midwest Region at Park Jefferson Speedway. Isaac is a paraplegic and I believe he is the first one to win a sprint car feature.

Isaac lost the use of his legs nine years ago in a motocross accident. He and his dad began sprint car racing four years ago and were about as green as anyone could be entering the sport. They not only struggled with learning everything there is regarding the mechanics and driving, they had a much greater obstacle than others in figuring out a way to make a sprint car drivable for a driver who didn't have the use of his legs.

I've followed Isaac's sprint car career since he began. There have been far more downsides to it than upsides. But I can't think of anyone who has a more positive outlook on racing or life in general.

He is truly an inspiration.

I agree 150%. This is a story that needs to be all over the national news.

All of us from the ASCS Midwest Region say congratulations and we are proud that we were able to be a part of this event.

Isaac controls everything with his hands, steering, throttle and brakes. Just think about that for a moment.

And his victory came against some very stout competition.

Again, congratulations to the whole #612 race team...CZ / ASCS Midwest Regional Director.

Simply amazing......and inspiring.  Isaac is proef if you want it bad enough...you can acheive, and never let anyone tell you you can't do something.

In all fairness, yes, technically Isaac won the feature at Huset's Speedway that night.  Howerver, it was in the short lived USRA Sprint class which utilized the electronic fuel injected sealed LS engines.  There were 3 cars in the field that night.

Last night's win came against some of the best 360 racers in the business.

Congrats Isaac and the whole #612 team!  Very deserved win indeed!

Todd

This is awesome.  How many times have we all told ourselves we "can't" do something because it's too hard/too whatever...very cool.
